Right there with you. Same age. Where did it all go wrong? The 80s is by far the greatest decade. Kids could be kids and as long as we didn't break any major laws no one cared what we did.

So depending when you got born, your youth and early adulthood is the magical time..... Unless you got a shit upbringing, than its the adulthood that gets fun.... generally spoken.

born in late 80s, lived the 90s as a kid and had many many 80s movies and music influences but even though I didn’t actually lived the 80s, gunship are able to make me feel like I’m still a child and bring back many good memories

A few years ago I was in a really bad place in life. I was laying in bed listening to music when the algorithm happened upon "When You Grow Up Your Heart Dies" and it moved me to tears. Since then, through better and worse, Gunship's music has touched my heart. At times it made me feel joy. At times it tugged at my heartstrings when I wasn't in a good headspace. The love, soul, and passion in these tracks at times was one of the few things that gave me positivity in a cold world. Thank you for being you, guys, and keep the heat coming. With love.

100% agreed! I just recently found out that my 15 year old son played "When You Grow Up Your Heart Dies" for about a year straight when he was 13/14 years old. He was going through some really head times and it probably saved his life. I love this song, too, and am so grateful to have discovered it! I'm so happy to have discovered Gunship as it touches my Gen X soul. I love that only those who have lived through the 80s would recognize the references and cultural nods to the 80s. It makes me feel like a strong, carefree and free-spirited teenager again! Thank you @GUNSHIPMUSIC ! 💖

The music video for that one is by far one of my favorite emotional video ever.

Man it's 40 years ago in my head right now. Things were so simple when we were children. Nice cover/tribute!

What i wanna know is why is it that it seems like these kids put synthesizers to way better use than we did back in the day? Good job!

Gunship, Dance with the Dead, Midnight Danger, Timecop1983, Waveshaper, Dynatron, and Fury Weekend are my favorite Synthwave bands. It blows my mind that these bands have not completely broke into maintsteam music. They create music that is so far superior to the garbage on the radio that I do not even listen to radio anymore. Keep it up Gunship!

Since a few years lots of mainstream pop acts have imported synthwave sounds, obviously very diluted and tamed down. The sad thing is that no one talks about synthwave. It s like its not existing and they pretend its just 80´s music influence which is wrong because synthwave is extremely heavily inspired by film soundtracks and not just 80´s mainstream music.

And E.T. as it made Kuwahara THE BMX bike to have at the time. Lucky for them as Kuwahara got the spotlight just before their fame faded as the market was flooded and Kuwahara was just about to slip out E.T. came along and propped them up a little while longer before BMX died its first death soon after E.T. with the advent of home video games.

I remember sitting next to my tape recorder waiting for this song to come on the radio so I could record it, but never could. "Real Life" wasn't a big band in the US, so I was so stoked when I found the single years later.

That was very good!

I have such strong memories tied to the original that when I heard the first few seconds of this cover it was nostalgia overload! That gem of a track I never expected to find but a treasure to have!
