Send Me an Angel by Real Life - or - BMX Boogie Scene from RAD

Музыка

It looks as though there are already some clips of this up on KZread but this one seems to be of slightly higher quality and until RAD ends up on BluRay remastered for it's 25th Anniversary (not likely) this is the best it's gonna get. Enjoy

I time where EVERYTHING (for kids anyway) was MUCH simpler. I cannot fathom being a kid in today's world. You don't see the neighborhood kids doing ANYTHING outside anymore. No bikes at the end of your friend's driveway; no hide-n-seek, no sense of neighborhood community at all. I know people all over the rest of the world's continents.....but I don't know my next-door neighbors on all sides of my house. Front, back, both sides. A sign-of-the-times I guess. I have a 10yr old son, and I can't (rather won't) bring another soul into what this world has become. Yeah, there were many problems in the 80's. (I lived in the USA). We had the Cold War, Cocaine(especially Crack epidemic), Beirut and an at times unstable economy.....but life overall when talking to my parents was life being SO much simpler made those issues palatable. They weren't EVERY WEEK reading about what became "the worst mass-shooting in US history" EVERY WEEKEND; or another 500 people overdosing and dying from opioids and/or both opioids/benzodiazepines...or the next WORST natural disaster in the form of hurricane or Earthquake...

The moment begining at 2:25 when he breaks away and christian holleys(Lori) stares from a distance, in slow motion now stunned..eyes wide open... in awe as the wheel whips around revealing how she now knows he really is the real thing with his god given talent on full display as he continues in zone in unison with the crowd clapping handling his bmx like a boss. Now her equal they glide about like angels as the song aludes send me an angel right now. Perfectly edited..it's a beautiful moment....just flawless. Even better when she smiles as they go on to finish the act with the guitar solo in the background..as she finishes her run adding her own flare. Man did girls like this exist?

+Justus Allison can't believe I know all the great cult movies of the 80's (Ferris Bueller, Dirty Dancing and The Lost Boys are just as loved by our kids - 2 up to 16 and they all have The Lost Boys album and Real Life's stuff...we taught them well lol) and I have never seen this! We have thousands yet only heard about "Rad" due to seeing people reference it on the '83 & '89 versions of this song, so sound likes we are missing a cult classic? Fwiw I'd highly recommend those who appreciate Real Life and David's incredible voice (David Sterry, lead guitar, vocalist and writer of this) search up his name along with Countdown Spectacular - he didn't do guitar *sob*, but damn, he's one a rare few who still has it in spades. He performs regularly, still just as great live and lucky for me, a fellow Aussie ;) They weren't as synth/new wave as people thought - worth looking at their old stuff, they had a unique mix of those two things but with a bit of 80's pun/rock thrown in. Even had a song banned from airplay - you know you've hit the mark when that happens lol.

I remember when I was 6 my parents went out of town and I had to stay with a babysitter and her 2 teen daughters. We went to rent movies and I immediately picked this. I specifically remember thinking that everyone would be impressed that I got such a grown up movie that was extremely cool to boot. I wasn't so sure at the time based on their reactions but in retrospect, and after watching this scene I'm positive that they were impressed. I mean the movie is literally titled RAD. How can it not be...well RAD?...Answer it has to be and is RAD AF! LOL
