Happy Halloween to all of our fans out there roaming the net both vast and infinite.
A seasonal 🎃 gift from us to you. It was an honour and a pleasure to collab with the mighty ‪@powergloveaudio‬ ⚡️
Enjoy this deep dive into a neon cybernetic future where a ‘Ghost’ is your soul, cyborg bodies are merely interchangeable shells and the concept of ‘I’ may no longer mean much at all. 💀

‘If a technological feat is possible, man will do it. Almost as if it's wired into the core of our being.’ -Major Motoko Kusanagi
It’s hard to disagree with Motoko given the pace of progress in AI over the last year or two, and we follow these developments with great interest. Trained on vast swathes of net-based imagery and given all the biases baked in by humans, what would a text-to-video generating AI dream up given themes of life after death in the near future? This video is a completely experimental trip into a world generated purely by AI, with vanishingly little wetware interference. May it stand as a snapshot in time, so that perhaps it can be revisited in light of future developments that are, only now, just a whisper…

Ghost
Molten bloody earth
A focused open wound
All highways lead right here
Ghost
Storms and heavy air
Riots in the street
I’ll take you somewhere safe
Ghost
Will we feel the same
Caught between the sheets
Time is time again
Ghost
Just show me your world
Will we feel the same
Dancing around my head
Glowing stems of death
Time is time again
Ghost
Anodyne you hurt like heaven
Physical comfort drift away
Anodyne you move like heaven
Physical comfort drift away
Anodyne distortion has brought us back together
Operation Overlife guide us away

This song is a vibe of pure cybernetic bliss - it just takes me to a place of dreams where I am 99% chromed up with a Sandevistan and all known upgrades, and yet instead of going cyberpsycho, I'm just chilling and feeling good.

Right? Found these guys only a couple of years ago in my mid 30s and honestly they have found a spot in my top 10. It is crazy how their music almost retro actively puts their songs into past feelings and thoughts that happened well before I discovered them. They seriously make the coolest soundtrack for life...

The problem with this song is only lasts 4 minutes and 23 seconds. The emotions this invokes, memories, memories and experiences I have lived, memories & experiences I have lived, and yet to live, and will never live. It's like my soul, my past lives converging into one. Alternate universe versions of me becoming one. Heaven, light, a dark ecstacy....like being intimate with my wife and yet at the same time being one with myself.

This was the song that got me into Gunship. It really has its own identity separate from the rest of the discography. Gunship delivers quality tunes consistently, and I enjoy everything they come with. While most A.I. videos are quite underwhelm and just seem like a lazy reach, this one really fits and suits the song well. Well done Gunship, keep killin' it!

After hearing this tune however, I decided to pick up my project again. Sounds silly, I know, but something about this masterpiece filled my head with inspiration and hope. Thank you for a musical kick up the ass, and that push I needed to continue. God bless....

This is a masterpiece. You should win awards for this. Art on so many levels. I doubt most will realize the depth of this. I know most will focus on the music, but the concept of having a machine make the art while a human makes the music(about an metaphysical idea) and the interpretations of both creating the meaning, is next level. Has to be one of the most interesting concepts and videos I have ever seen! Just unbelievable.

@@MasterPyrokar Thank you for your comment. I am so blown away by this video but I will admit, not being an AI or computer guy I think I don’t understand it at the level I’d like. If you do understand….may I ask a clarifying question? I understand the concept of asking a computer (AI) to produce an image of a topic “what happens when we die?” and the computer throws an image. But where does the “flow” come from? The artistic and insane transition from image to image. Is the computer indeed creating it all?? If that’s what I’m to understand then it is almost incomprehensible AND terrifying.

  • @MasterPyrokar

    @MasterPyrokar

    Жыл бұрын

@@wildwoodwood9153 I am not 100% sure which technique and algorithms they used, but one possible explanation for the "flow" transitions is the following: The visual representation of "what happens when we die" is not learned by the AI directly. This means that there exist no direct connection between a given phrase and a concrete image. What happens instead is that the AI learns a representation of "approximately" the meaning of the phrase. Imagine a map with an area where all these connections between the phrase and the visuals (when outputing one image) live. If you now point with your finger on that map and move around the area you would get something representing the meaning of the words, but as you move each image is a little different. The more you move to the rim of such an area, the more uncertain it gets, but stays in the same range of the topic. Now imagine a global map which has a lot of these areas (which could also overlap) representing e.g. "What happens to Buddhists when we die", "What do we see what we die" or "What is death". All this is represented in numbers. For sake of explanation, just imagine a 1-dimensional representation (e.g. The image representation of "What happens to Buddhists ..." = 0.5). If you now move your finger of that map in one direction, that number may become 0.6 or 0.4 for "more buddhist", "more science fiction" and so forth. It's a bit like cooking and the numerical represenations are the amount of ingriedients a meal consist of. And this movement between the numbers may be the flow we may observe between the images. In reality the visuals are represented by a more complex set of numbers, but the underlying principle stays the same. (This allows us to do the same "flow" between a zebra and a horse, they are also placed in proximity and so it is easy for the computer to "flow" between those two. The more artistic version would be between a zebra and an elephant, which includes more change in size, color, location. You have to pump up the zebra, pull the legs, the nose etc. If the steps are small enough over time you get this fluid transistion (if you pay close attention you can even notice "neighbourhoods" which lead to faster transisitons in the video). In a sense you could say that this is the mind of all humans (or at least artists which had something to say to the topic) pondering about the phrase "what happens when we die" without ever representing one specific artist. This makes it so deeply meaningful to me as a piece of art and tells us a lot about how unstable truth, belief and reality can be. The video also allows someone to visually expericence math without the need of formal education. You can "feel" math in this way. If you want to dig deeper, I can highly recommend the book "The creativity code - Art and Innovation in the Age of AI" by Marcus Du Sautoy. The book has a nice way to explain these topics by getting not too technical but also doesn't think the reader is an idiot :). If you want to know about this on a more detailed level, search for papers and information online, with e.g the keywords "Generative Adversarial Networks", "StyleGAN", "Pix2Pix", "Variational Autoencoders".

It's unfair how prodigiously much beauty there is to see, that we cannot. Our eyes only grasp 4.6% of the light-spectrum. Even with that, with our low brain-capacity and frames per second eyes, we can't even process all the art we're seeing. All we truly know is that it goes us by. But at least, we know it is still as beautiful.

i knows the afterlife, because its never been alive, its never felt the sun on its face, the warm embrace of a lover, the sadness of loss, its never known love or hate. then we ask it questions, neither us nor it, can truly answer, so its looks at what we think we know and re-bundles it and delivers it to us like a jewel in the sand, glinting in the sun, only to dazzle our eyes. it may be clever but it it wise, only time will tell
