Conte.... I like what Oli nailed it a few weeks back (maybe on the bonus episode on substack, which I recommend): "People want the idea of Conte, the idea of a winner" suggesting that there is a difference with the real Conte. Lets say were having 50m to spend again this year. At start youre getting 30m for Alexis and CDK, maybe if were lucky 5+5m for Pobega and Origi. So youre looking at 90, possibly 100 with some additional sales on the side. Now, if were going for Zirk, and say, Bologna settle for the 50m bid. Were left with 50, which would be enough to get the torino CB, and if we squeeze it we get that one young lille RB. What about a DM then? Im seeing only Ndidi as a solid option on a free, but even then idk how good hes been for Leicester this season + I think hed ask for huge wages. Best bet could be loan w option to buy for one of these 2 big money signings or splitting it into multiple installments for the next 2-3 seasons. Either that or trying to pull Isma to Saudi deal, in which case we could get 40ish for him. Otherwise, I dont see anyone in europe trying for him for over 27m. And all of that while not taking into account potential release fee for a future coach. Its gonna be hectic either way
