    I don't think we can get a better goalkeeper at a similar price point and with the way we leak goals I would be more inclined to sell a player up front than one at the back. As much as Leão is probably our best player, the money he could bring in could actually make a difference to various departments, whereas the money Maignan could bring in wouldn't.

    I disagree 100% and here is why: 1. Mike is one of the only world-class players in our team at the moment and goalkeepers that are of that level don't grow on trees. 2. Comparatively Alisson (who I hope we can all agree is a world-class goalkeeper) was injured for nearly 50 matches in his time at Liverpool (that is since the 19/20 season), including 17 matches this season. He is instrumental in the performance of his team in all competitions, I don't think I know a Liverpool fan who would sell him. 3. Everyone seems to get injured at this club, a new management/coaching staff might see improvements in the physio department. 4. With Mirante leaving, we need to consider who our backups are. We're not going to do well if we flip our entire departments every season. Consistency matters. Our alternative is to pick a goalkeeper who can take the second or third place and rotate properly, similarly to how City does it with Ortega. With a goalkeeper who gets injured, we shouldn't have a hard time convincing a backup to arrive.

    Sportiello is the back up though. As for Maignan he has only missed 11 more games due to injury in play more seasons. Not to mention Alisson has been incredibly healthy for a while now. Mike had some weak performances this year so to warrant money in nearly 8 million range he cant be not healthy and drop a level

    @@SempreMilan I agree because if I was management I would not offer more than 6 million euros for him to renew. If he still tries to demand 7-8 million or more when he can’t stay healthy and he’s shown a regression in his performance this season, then I don’t have a problem with him being sold.

  • @ohimats

    @@SempreMilan I agree he's not showing his worth but we are talking about a very strong goalkeeper who's just been out of form. A new coach will get us to see something else. Also, Alisson was injured 17 matches and just came back a month ago.... He's not been healthy for a while. Far from it.

    Big fan of the podcast but the last few episodes have left me a little disappointed. Your covering of Pioli is a little unfair. For sure his time is up, there is no argument for that. However he is right when he said that the coverage for his time at Milan has either been super positive or super negative. Lets look objectively at what he has done. He played an instrumental role in bringing us out of the Banter Era. Look at our expectations for Milan now vs before he took over. Milan has been reborn and while he hasnt done it single handily, he definitely played a huge part in it. Next look at how he has improved so many players (barring CDK). He was given essentially a squad of mostly rejects or misfits from other clubs. Theo, Leao, Tomori, Pulisic etc etc etc are part of a long list of players who have grown exponentially during Piolis time with us. Yes Pioli needs to go, yes he isnt the person to take us to the next level. Yes he often makes baffling decisions that make no sense. But i do think he deserves better than to be shit on at every opportunity. The Milan fanbase never liked him, and that has followed him his whole tenure. Last week Oli said Pioli will be remembered for his failures, I heavily disagree. He will be remembered for bringing us back to the Champions League, for our 19th Scudetto, for our Champions League Semi Final, for developing a strong core of players for the future. Im not saying dont criticise him, but also lets not forget all the good things hes done. Lets thank him for his service, wish him luck and hope the management choose the right coach to build on the work Pioli has done.

    How sure are you guys that Lopetegui was a done deal before the "fiasco" ?

  • @ziontrain7887
    @ziontrain78873 күн бұрын

    If Milan management are having 2nd thoughts about Lopetegui then it’s clear to me that the idea was being pushed by a certain super agent and not based on the fact that they did their “research” on Lopetegui. In all honesty, for the profile Milan are looking for it would have made more logical sense for them to go for someone like Amorim, Motta, De Zerbi, Fonseca or Farioli. So the Lopetegui idea is extremely bizarre to say the least. Milan have too many people involved in the decision making process and we need an experienced Sporting Director similar to Morata at Inter like Bologna or Atalanta directors. Remove Furlani, Zlatan and keep Moncada as chief scout. We need a season CEO with experience like Damien Comolli.

None and neither could they. Inzaghis formation and system is completely opposite to what Milan plays. This isnt fifa lil bud + half the players there are playing above their capacities. Theres a reason why Hakan, Henrikh, Dimarco look subpar whenever they go play for their NT. The fullback is actually starting to get benched and it wouldnt be a surprise to see Udogie as a starting LB come euros >and we are still second And only bc others have been terrible. Were consistently being outplayed by farmer teams like Lecce and Monza. Another season where we underperform our xG. Weve surrendered the title race very early (trashing in the madonnina), early UCL exit where we couldve gone past, looked poor against chech randoms and a midtable L1 side in EL, then getting embarrassed by roma where we were favorites. Early exit in coppa where we had a relatively easy path to win it. Definitely an amazing season On the other side Maldini wanted Renato Sanches, Ndicka, Orsolini and the likes. People need to understand..his no longer a great potential..his about to turn 25..by end of next season he will be 26. I do not see his mentality changing after 26 especially when theres big money in the bank. If we dont we going to regret it.. we have seen players like him before they start of great and then fizzle out and thats looking more and more like the path for him. Obviously we need to take that money and invest it in quality.

    I agree. If the right offer comes in for Maignan, Theo and Leao then I would have no problem with Milan selling them but we need to invest in quality ready made players. I don’t get the reason for signing players who are not yet at the level of a top player. We can no longer wait for players to develop risk spending on a CDK or Musah type of player. For the midfield we need players like Ceballos and Koopmeiners. Offload Bennacer and Pobega. This is the difference in quality between Inter and Milan. They have players that elevate the quality of the team not players who need time to develop. Milan need players who are the level for a top club to compete for trophies.

    Thing is people are gonna point the blame at 2 areas in this club. 1.) Pioli, while being a decent coach for stability, it should have never come to the point of renewing him for a longer and more expensive contract considering that we had seen his flaws even in the earlier years of his time at milan. When we lost in those unbeaten runs, we lost in bad fashion and it really showed that his team was mentally weak and he couldn't toughen up on them. 2.) Management, people think that if we now sack moncada,furlani and ibra. That well be magically good again, fans need to stop being so delusional. Moncada and furlani did great work, no matter how the season turned out, most of the players they brought in worked in the way they were supposed to. Okafor being an option off the bench and some starts that guarantees u a goal every couple of matches and hes done that and same goes with jovic, now rlc and pulisic have been better imo then we expected. Reijners and musah. Reijners is still adapting but hes having decent games. Musah is exactly what we expected and what Management expected. And young player with potential that if he plays good well sell on like we did with hauge. Chuku was the only one who you could say flopped but even he is showing his worth in recent games. Maldini wouldn't have brought in these players cuz he wouldn't have been trusted simple as that. He failed to address some key positions over the years(rw,cam,back up lb), plus his work on renewals only would gave got him sacked at other clubs. But the players need to get a finger pointed at them aswell imo, theo and leao walking around and not sticking to positions is ridiculous and out right upsetting. Alot of other players like giroud and calabria are no better. Imo if u make the most u should take the most amount of accountability when u play like prime niang. But nah our players play the victim card on social media and think that scoring a brace against lecce makes up for months of trash ass work and like olli said, if a good offer comes ship them off.
