The wage bill is the single best predictor of team success. I recomend the book Soccernomics, where they tackled a lot of interresting questions with statistial analysis. Among others the wage bill vs league position and transfer spending vs league position. Turns out wage bill is strongly correlated to success while transfer expenditures have nearly zero correlation to sporting outcome in the same season.

Leao didnt get subbed off because under our style of play he stays further up the field and does not have to drop back as much or as deep as our other attacking players, so it is better to rest Chuk, RLC, and Pulisic.

Pulisic and Leao and chucku will run circles around that backline bc pulisic is a much much more incisive progressive ball passer than RLC and that will spring so many attacks. Hes also a better dribbler in tight spaces so if we are forced to play agasint a low block or mid. We have an advantage as well. Ruben can certainly play in a double pivot but slightly higher than either adli or tijani on the opposite side. It’s a win win to get puli and chucku on together 👍

I have an idea about the striker position. Someone who fills the following criteria: -Big game player -proven goalscorer -has done it in the prem several times -not too expensive -great link-up play (better than giroud's) -knows the league well -is not very old -will definitely leave in the summer And that name is Lukaku. He is the best possible option for Milan. He should be our summer marque signing and he will slot in perfectly in our system Thoughts?

I’m with oli on this in regards to the wage bill debate. The wage bill is a massive indicator on success. Of course there are some anomalies but for the most part club resources often what separates contenders from pretenders.

I want to see Leao against Roma, Inter and Juventus. Especially with inter when the title can be won against us and the ball will be heavy like a meteorite coming to the earth and thats not only for leao but for everyone. One mistake can make the difference from here on out

Good podcast gentlemen. Roma plays more open free flowing football which is good for Milan because we struggle a lot against teams that play a low block and fast counterattack. I think Milan still has the edge in this game. My main concern is beating Inter in the derby. We just cannot afford another bad loss to them at home and let them win the scudetto at the San Siro. Redbird will not spend 50m+ on a striker and Zirkzee is not the striker we need. Milan will most likely go for a player like Gonçalo Ramos on loan with an option to buy or someone like Artem Dovbek from Girona or En-Neysri from Sevilla. But Milan will not spend 50m on a striker. Smh

Wages definitely have a nearly direct correlation with success. There's always going to be outliers, as mentioned; however, you have to pay for the top established talent. If you want to attract top players, you have to pay them. Even if you recruit a young player who develops or find a great player who was thrown out by other clubs (ie Pulisic), you're going to have to pay them to keep them. You're not going to just give money to anyone to be a top spender. That's not the argument. The question was framed wrong IMO, it should have been 'do teams that spend higher wages tend to have more success' and that is a clear yes. In Milan's case, they need to spend more to catch Inter. Inter has done well. You can't expect coaches with less resources to outperform coaches with more resources on a yearly basis. AC Milan already had a miracle season under Pioli a couple years ago, that shouldn't be the expectation every season. I personally think Pioli has done really well with what he's got. He's gotten a lot out of players that other teams couldn't (well mostly Chelsea). Without higher wages, thus better players overall, top 4 is all AC Milan should be realistically aiming for. Anything else is just overachieving.

How was Theo reckless compared to chukwazee getting karate kicked? Two totally different scenarios regardless if both incidents weren’t mean for contact. One is def a red. The other maybe should have been stopped for head injury but absolutely not a foul.

Lmao wow whats with the hate for Giroud. He will be missed. He surely was not the flop even when he’s quiet and doesn’t score he is very important to our play in build up and pressing (presses more than leao)

Pressing and build up play what are you talking about. Giroud is basically a passenger in this team. I personally can’t wait for him to leave. Can talk about his pens and fake assists all you like. I watch the games.

@@stardragon1131 you haven’t paid attention. I never said anything about penalties and assists. At 38 years old he does hustle. Absolutely more than leao. Watch him more closely . I was never his biggest fan but I’ve seen many strikers come and go over the years for Milan and none of them were as close to as good as Giroud for us. His strength and height for knock downs and corners has been great. I’m not saying he’s perfect but he won’t be easily replaced. I’m also not saying we renew him as he can’t keep it up but the man has done great things for us and I’m worried about the next guy to lead this team. The criticism for Giroud is too much but there is a reason the guy has won everything on big teams and was never a 20 goal player. Giroud broke out 9 curse. Respect that man. Forza Milan.

Dusan is the most expensive player even now, in the summer 2024 his wages will be 12M€ net. AJ has been eating some Dutch shrooms for sure if he thinks Milan will sign Vlahobitch 😂 Juve will be a force next year if they get Motta,Calafiori and Zirkzee. If they somehow add Koopmeiners too ( i know, the transfer spend will be sky high by now) they will compete for the scudetto easily.
