Great, great, great! Love this era of trucks. I will have to watch this a few more times and pause it to check out each truck in detail. It is neat to see what drivers did to customize their rigs back then.

Anything before 1991(D.O.B.) I really don't have a good memory of,but I love seeing these old trucks. They are the rolling museums of yesteryear of what America once stood for, reliability, durability, and built to last.I was told that there was great trucking unions way back then, but now days it's like your on your own.

I was a union driver for a non trucking company with their own fleet. After 30 years we were replaced by non union little boys who didn't know crap about trucking. Aftr that, trucking and safety went to hell.

I do not think most of our modern truckers would fit in those old sleepers especially the crawl thru ones..The sleepers were a blessing over having to carry a piece of plywood to put across the two seats to sleep on or try and get comfy on the doghouse. My old C/O was nice wake up on a cold morning and I start the truck with out getting out of the bunk.

Drivers didn't live in their trucks then. Everybody I knew would go out, and come back, if they were gone 4 or 5 days it was a long time. Maybe it was just because we lived near a large US Steel mill. Lots of guys ran local, and some maybe 600 miles at the most. And really the rates were good enough to deadhead home if you had to. A back-haul was a bonus, not a necessity

Cool video.I miss the old cabovers. They seem to be a thing of the past. One sees very few C.O.E's here in No Cal anymore. Is that a Pete with the sleeper over the cab at 1:43?

they were coffin sleepers cause when running double if your partner wrecked while you were in the sleeper most likely you would be trapped and not get out alive
