I've done print sales, wine sales, glass & mirror sales, and even cold calling recruiting sales. Just got into roofing sales and it is by far one of the easiest sales gigs I've had. Just a lot of follow ups and keeping it as simple for the home owner as possible. Still, I appreciate the tips. Always room to improve

Been a roofer for 8 years owned my own comp for 4 years now got offered a sales job going to take it get out of the feild. The best way to be able to sell a roof is to actually do the trade first so you really know what's going on I have mastered it and got to know alot of products there warranty and all down to nail pattern and all my buddie and me just went over this cause he dont know how to roof and when people ask questions he dont have answeres and that is what stops alot of his sales.

In my experience, the easiest way to sell roofs is, sell one, drop a sign. Then its all easy from there. I typically start in coldisaks,(spell check)and or corner houses in the community. Once the referrals come in its game over.

The opportunity really is there. I'm happy you found my channel -- be sure to check out the other training options, too! I want you to have a success story in the industry! :) I left you a couple links on another comment thread.

I really need advice since I'm a noob at this and I'm currently babysitting about 4 kids and my mom got an offer from a friend of hers that she is telling me that she or he just opened a roofing company and they want someone to take calls and get deals... And I don't know nothing about construction or roofing at that and the amount of money they will pay is very tempting 😌🤔 but I'm also an introvert and shy person but I'm willing to do the job 🙄 but I need practice or some time of tips and how to do stuff since I'm more of a visual learner...😅

My first sales pro has 12 yrs experience and tried to sell me a" Cadillac" roof replacement that was so high it was not funny. He did not break down the cost of labor and materials and only quoted me $850.00 per square X number of squares needed to replace the roof. Made me think I was in the wrong business.

If you're not a professional installer then you will miss and overlook so much shit when you estimate/sell many roofs. Knowing some product facts means nothing. Can you even climb on a roof? Also seeing that woman can not roof I'd never accept you as a sales rep into my company. It looks so bad for business when a clearly non professional roofer like yourself shows up to a house to estimate it and make the sale. You are using your looks to scam people into getting their roof done. As a master roofer and business owner I can only imagine the level of incompetence that goes into your estimates. I've dealt with sales reps like you, both men and women a thousand times and it always ends on the same note, you're all con men who don't know what actually goes into doing a roof.

I’ve done so well at my craft that I have led thousands of contractors to success with their own businesses in my trainings, which are used nationwide. Do your homework before you make foolish comments like these. Thanks.

@@roofsalesmastery I know you're not a roofer. That's my point and the problem. You might be able to sell roofs to gullible homeowners but I guarantee that when it comes down to actually doing the roof, the roofers themselves are pissed because you overlooked so many aspects of the job. If you've never done it than you have no idea what it actually takes to get a roof done, and you screw over the guys who have to go up there and bust their asses for a meager pay. Basically you shouldn't be selling anything in the trades unless you're a master at the craft, otherwise you are a scammer. I have met and dealt with thousands of people like you. I've also sold many roofs as well as owned and operated many successful businesses. I'd love to see a video of you setting up a 40 foot ladder by yourself and climbing on a 12/12, 3 story townhouse complex and estimate it properly. If you do that, I'll admit I was wrong. And your advice was more or less useless. What you should be saying is, if someone wants to sell roofs, first they should become a roofer for at least 5 years and learn what it takes.

@@GorillaStorhigin Meet Steve Jobs. Creator of Apple and responsible for the sale of 85 million iPhones in the US since 2007. Never built the phones he sold. The distributors, inventors, manufacturers, and installers are not all the same person. Each person has a role. You need not be the builder of the bridge to be responsible for its design. That's how it works in ANY industry. The salesperson is not the installer. The salesperson in the Jeep lot did not build the vehicle. The sommelier did not make the wine they are recommending to their patrons. I am not a laborer. I am a salesperson. It's what I'm good at. I don't need to have laid shingles to be able to sell them. That's what people like you, with clearly no sales or people skills, are for. Thanks!

@@roofsalesmastery You are wrong. I knew you would use examples like those but roofing is different. If you're not an installer you don't know what you are doing. I Know for a fact that the guys who have to do the roofs that you sell are pissed because you don't know what to look for, and you have no idea what is realistic when it comes to what can actually be done while still being profitable. Sure, you and the companies that you sell for are happy because you're all making money while laying back in your comfy chairs, but you're just a middle man. The tradesmen end up cleaning up the mess you create and have to sacrifice. It's people like you that cause millions of roofers around the world to suffer and struggle to get by because of your incompetence. You only care about sales, not the people doing the job. Again, try roofing for 5 years and see if you are still signing the same tune. Remember that roofing is predominately a piece trade, not some lazy hourly job like road construction. I know how to install and sell, and that's why I know you're full of it, because I've actually been there and done that a lot more than you have. Also, your advice is generic and is good for nothing. Stick to selling used cars and snake oil, thousands of tradesmen will be happier that way.

@@GorillaStorhigin The irony of this entire conversation is you have done so little homework that you don't realize you are talking to the individual who is the PIONEER in getting roofs paid for properly, especially by insurance. I am the reason contractors nationwide get paid up to TWICE as much as they normally do on jobs following my estimating and sales strategies. Roofers everywhere are thankful that I close jobs and give them work. Do your homework, bud. You are literally spouting nonsense and know ZERO about me and clearly know even less about the industry. That's why you're stuck doing the labor. Doesn't take much common sense to lift bundles. Stay in your lane, silly.
