In my opinion you see the fake already in his first day. His touch with 3 notes at same time is already really good. After 3 years of very hart work from a real beginner to someone who is possible to read notes and manage some pieces like menuett in g, the bach prelude in c, etc. its hard to believe that this is his true progress. I am not sure. I choose the classical way. Maybe the pop genre is easier? Bu in fact, our brain need a lot of time and practice to feel comfortable to use 10 fingers in different ways 😊

I used to hate music theory when I was young and started to learn music for the first time, then eventually in my teens I just gave up as I wasn't getting anywhere... Nowadays though, as I'm embarking once again in this Universe that I so deeply love, I simply love music theory and I try to devour as much of it as I can 😁

You definitely shouldn’t compare, people have different natural strengths…so you will have strengths that this guy hasn’t. He is good with copying others and using his ears. But he has tried to talk a lot of shortcuts too which affect his ability to play, and I’m sure you will be able to do a lot that he isn’t able to after four years. 😊

When he plays river flows in you, it's about my level after 5-6 month of piano learning. I think it's possible if u focus on just one song to do after one month depending on how much practice you put into

Many people including myself have a teacher and go through playing in a more step-by-step or systematic way. There are people who just want to learn a few songs and they'd follow Y-T video demos from day 1. Playing progress is not measured in your ability to play Bach minuets, Beethoven & Mozart sonatas or Chopin nocturnes. Traditional music lessons you do your scales, etudes & repertoire pieces that tend to focus on Classical music. There is nothing wrong with starting with Pop songs. Beginner pieces tend to be repetitive like Pop music. I've seen people who had a teacher and played the assign repertoire quit. If music is not fun & engaging, people are more likely to quit. When people are serious learning music, they're going to pick up theory eventually... may be not on day 1.

I am very skeptical of these 1 year progress videos. As someone who is on month 17, I can tell you day 1 is not recorded on day 1. And month one is not month 1, more like month 8 or 9.

Please, I agree with the comment below. You are a professional pianist and you don't see this through this? Day 2 - the right hand is as relaxed as a whistle? and self-taught? Yes, of course. after one month, a faultless coordination and the LEFT hand is at the professional's level. Gave me a BREAK.

I am 😊 many people can naturally have relaxed hands, or have experience with other instruments so are able to play more naturally with musicality and be relaxed. None of the playing throughout the video was at a professional level. I take it at face value and as it’s presented because (based on the video) it isn’t clear as to the REAL timeframe or his REAL experience, however we can be sure that he’s not a professional or had many if any lessons 😊

I say the "self-taught" guy being discussed is really self-taught. Why? Because he sits way too close the piano with his elbows hanging at the sides of his body instead of with the elbows located in front of his rib cage area. The "self-taught" guy's hands and fingers aren't gently curved to touch the piano keys and instead look tense with extended flat fingers. His one-year of poor piano sitting position and piano posture would have been corrected within the first week of having lessons with a professional piano teacher. I don't see his one-year of piano playing demo being impressive, except for his determination to stick with it for one year.

@@crosskeys3403 Nice! remember, if you are not sure what to practice, scales, reading, arpeggios and ear training are always great options, also search for the Czerny op 299 etudes, you should be able to play some of them and it will be more beneficial than any Liszt or Chopin pieces since the complexity in those is not in hitting the right notes at the right tempo but in areas that you still don't know about. Good luck and never give up.

sir piano teacher will just teach u playing piano... if u wanna become concert pianist as a professional one u definitely must start learning whole of music stuff from basics music theory is also as necessarry as playing piano itself because pianist also needs to be trained enough to have ability of composing things real professional pianist must be able to bend music in his head and express it then just by moving fingers its called like a improvisation maybe music theory will also grow ur options and opinion about music also ur taste of music will change and increase differently everything that totally affects on the level of pianist only technicues and playing will stick u up on others performances and copying them because u will not have enough experience imagination and ability to do ur individual music stuff tho... so if u wanna become concert pianist u rlly should start learning from 1st grade basic stuff its soooooo hard but never impossible as long as u belive urself so become a professional pianist if u rlly want it XD 🎉🎉😂

It’s very doable to fake being able to play by watching KZread videos and copying someone else (which is what I suspect he did)…and still not know anything about harmony, scales or why he’s using certain fingers etc. There’s nothing in this video that can give anyone certainty that the video is fake.
