    Dear Matthew, thanks a lot your react about my performance of Clair de lune. About the poco mosso section, my impressions are come from the image when the moon light shines on the water at nighttime and I tried to display that imagination. Btw It's art and subjective, one plays a bit slower another plays a bit faster. All kind could be full of emotions and impressions, depend of the artist. Thanks again, and continue, what you do. I like the way how you explain The Music for intersted people. 🤗🤗

  • @matticawood

    @matticawood

    It definitely is subjective, that’s the best thing about it. It’s always interesting to hear how different people interpret pieces. One of my teachers used to say to me…”it doesn’t matter if I would play it differently if it’s justified”. 😊 You played it really nicely and it’s a interesting way to think about the section!

    Claire De Lune should be played melodically. I feel like people play it like a race you need to finish first and they don't take the time to appreciate the beauty of it. Claire De Lune means "moonlight". The beauty of the piece written by Debussy is meant to be expressed melodically with a cantas feel. To play it fast deflates the piece and makes "moonlight" turn into "daylight".
