"Self Love Used To Be Impossible" True Stories of Addiction

The path to recovery is never a straight line. Angie suffered from a rough childhood of alcohol and verbal abuse escalated into abusive relationships as an adult.
Diagnosed with manic depression, ADHD and anxiety. She was prescribed medication to treat the mental conditions.
Suicide attempts to living on the streets. This is an example of the dark places addiction and abuse can take people. This is a must watch.

She seems to be such a sweet person. It is saddening all the trauma she went through that eventually led her to being an addict. The upside is that she is now on the path to recovery.

The most painful part about her story is the verbal abuse she got from her step mother. That must have really hurt her self confidence :(

As long as I have my drugs I do not care anymore. This is how addiction operates. All is fine and dandy until it does not. The odd thing tho is usually its our own vulnerability that pushes people to be here. An excuse perhaps??? but its very valid.

what it feels like when people bodyshame you. It's even worse if it comes from your parents. It affects the self esteem of the individual. Angie is a strong lady and I could tell by listening to her story. I wanted to commit suicide because of people bodyshaming. I'm glad she is doing ok
