Let me explain a lot of context that someone that isn't from Mexico won't catch from solely this info. This tv segment was made with the initial intention for retirement home people so they could find their relatives, this quickly changed it seems after 1985 when Mexico City had a massive eartquake that shaked the whole city, with a lot of deaths and missing persons, the segment quickly change around that time to try to find missing persons. The segments have been constantly evolving every 4 or 5 years and today are more restricted than ever, i think they have barely any voice and is during mid day where the whole family (specially the parents) could be at the TV. I watched one of those segments at 5am and at the time it scared me a lot, never watched tv in the night again lol. The segments are more like an Amber Alert, you don't have to wait the 72 hours that Amber Alert make you wait in Mexico, the descriptions of missing persons varied wildy due to some of them haven't even passed a full day or couple of days. The descriptions could vary from "unknown location, they are X year old" to name the street, block and even what clothes they had, usually don't have any leads since most of them are notified by common folks and not by any investigation. m The thing about Selene Delgado is that her face is very generic, and i mean A LOT. The facial expression, the hairstyle and makeup (the eyebrows mostly) are what most 90s mexican girls had, add that Mexican media is pretty much known around locals of being heavily unethical, going so far as faking the existence of people for their wicked goals, as source search for "Frida Sofia Mexico City Earthquake" and "monchito mexico city earthquake", there are most cases but those are the most known. Knowing that her facial features are very generic and the fact mexican media doesn't hesitate when faking the existence of people, led people to believe that the company was faking the existence of the woman for some weird antics, while not being ai generated, maybe manipulated or even being from a totally unrelated person were on the table, since knowing the unethical nature of mexican television had could be plausible. A heartbreaking reality is that 70% to 80% of the people that made it into those segments was never found, and if they were let's say that were found in ways that you wouldn't even wish on your worst enemy. Also the segments told a secret sinister story, in late 2000s a lot of the segments were about young kids and women, if you paid close attention to the details, most cases their whereabouts became unkown on the same areas under the same conditions, leading you to believe that most of them took place in a span of a week or two, and this is reasonable since some towns of Mexico heavily suffered of human trafficking crime in the mid 2000s.

I don't think that's the issue, as other missing people are also staring at the camera, but rather the lack of distinguishing features to make her seem human. Barely visible nose bridge, no smile, not even a goddamn wrinkle. She looks human anatomically but not naturally.

@@Park_Place That's something you can easily ascribe to the terrible image quality. But to me, the real question was, why use hers that many times? If it's just a random missing person, how did the studio get her data, and why did they repeat it? These broadcasts would make sense as something that they replace with new cases right? soo... why repeat hers? As for the image, there's an easier option for fakery. Just use an actor. As mentioned the face in the image has no discernable features. It's an attractive woman, and... that's it. Even her hairstyle is nearly invisible. It's believable that the image was made to be a real photo that's functionally un-identifiable.

@@marhawkman303 Best explanations I have is that either she was in extremely high risk of suffering harm while missing/abducted (which is why they listed her several times in the hope that it would speed up her rescue) or she was the relative of someone working at Televisa who prioritized their family over strangers and made sure she always made an appearance.

I think Selene Delgado was real. There's nothing about her facial features that screams that she couldn't exist. At least in the first photo. But God damn that composite is terrifying.

I've seen many young ladies that look like Selene, I don't get any kind of uncanny valley effect when looking at the picture (and I am VERY sensitive to things like that). I think this poor girl went missing and due to the overwhelming amount of missing people and the corruption present in the police force, she slipped under the radar. I have an awful feeling she had been trafficked or murdered... Sadly, this type of occurence happens everyday, even in "safe" countries like England.

What’s kinda upsetting is how some of the other faces used in that one video are reconstructions of John and Jane Does. People who had families looking for them. Sure they’re creepy looking, but that was a person once. It just seems disrespectful

As a person who lives in Mexico and has watched this channel on tv and other apps, this was the most disturbing and creepy thing i have ever watched as a kid.. Most if these people were never found and the fact that this channel would randomly pop up, makes it even creepier, the bad quality and scary photos make me have nightmares,, lord

I think the face reveal was the most shocking aspect of the video! I was NOT expecting Lazy to look like that haha. His voice is so mature that I figured he was most likely in his late 30s/early 40s.

If I remember correctly, you could just send a picture to channel 5 asking for help if you had a missing relative, so it wouldn't be so weird if some of them didn't go to the police to file an official report. I have no idea why Selene's case got so famous but for me the creepiest part of servicio a la comunidad was knowing the amount of kids of my age that went missing everyday, back then it was actually worse for some reason.

I remember these sections back in the 90’s when I was a young teenager and what used to make it so eerie for me is that for the great majority of these missing people the announcer would estate that the person suffered from “Lagunas Mentales”(Mental Gaps) making it seem like the person had just wondered off into thin air never to be seen again in one of their mental episodes. Even until these days every once in a while I think of whatever happened to all those missing people. I used to think that I was the only one that remembered those announcements and how eerie they were until I saw this episode and realized that I wasn’t the only one. Thank you for bringing this up.

Florecita Dreams actually more than a horror channel is a shitpost channel, in the minute 2:30 the person is basically saying, "I'm the Chavez and my husband has told me about the stupid of you, kiddo from Valencia's metro, that you are bothering the eldery..." this is because around 2006 a video was uploaded about a kid bothering an old man in a metro from Valencia, Spain, and many internet users annoyed by this started making videos like this but with other characters and known figures. Also the image of the cat from the minute 3:24 is from an old meme in spanish community called "meper donas¿" ("You forgive me?" but mispelled)

this is so similar to the joanna lopez case. my heart prays that this was some kind of thing to make people more aware, but you can’t help but think if she truly was a real person. if she’s still out there. what happened to her. how all of this came to be. i can’t get over how similar this truly is to the joanna lopez case & that they’re both called lopez. insane.

Lazy, I have just started rewatching your videos from the last 7 years again. I have to say that the videos you produce are phenomenally well made and totally engaging. Kudos to you my bro!

You don't know the true feeling of being watching your favorite cartoon and then the community service broadcast starts right away... One of the many reasons a lot of people from 1996 to 2005 remember this with a chilling memory is because channel 5 was the predilect channel for kids without cable tv (a rich privilegie back in the day). So, My first memory was being there alone in my room, watching spongebob at 9 years old, and then community service broadcast starts randomly; they pass photo after photos of weird people that it's reportes as missing. Many of them were grown people with dead stares at the camera. It was like being trapped i. The twilight zone for a couple of minutes. I remember that eerie feeling everytime it started....

At the same time she is forever immortalized, its a weird line. Sad she lost her humanity, but interesting that she turned into something more. I think that's what one of the worst aspects of missing cases. So many lost people wind up traveling that line as they are slowly forgotten decades later. Really makes you think.

I don’t think Selene’s picture is off or generic looking. She legit looks like a very pretty young lady. I feel that she’s truly a missing person whose pic has unfortunately turned into an urban legend. I do wonder however, why none of her family has come forward to identify her. If this urban legend is truly as popular as it sounds, you would think one of her friends or family members would have heard it and come forward to the media to let people know Selene is a real person.

I agree. I'm sure that the picture is normal, and the whole thing is a tragedy. However, even then, something about the image gives me a strange and unnerving feeling. I know it really shouldn't, and I have no idea what it could be.

She may be another missing maquiladora near Ciudad Juarez. Serial killer activity is rampant there and many young women go missing, especially during that time.

considering the circumstances around her initial broadcast, I genuinely believe she was a real person. my guess is that her case wasn't covered by law, and she didn't have any public legal records. it just seems weird for them to have faked that during a series of actual missing persons listings. on top of that, seeing her name be treated as a "mysterious creepy pasta rumor" by the same channel's Twitter account a few decades later genuinely made me sick. how could someone go through the whole process of compiling the videos, putting her name in the "scary font generator" and sending the tweet without ONCE thinking that she could've ended up killed or trafficked as a result of going missing.

the thing is that people go missing a lot in mexico, especially women. i think there was a recent protest a couple of days ago in mexico city about the mistreat of women in the country. its sad really. what i STILL dont understand is if her original photo was real or not, like idk how ai generating faces was a thing back in the 90s in mexico, that seems waaay advance for its time, that makes me think her photo is real and not some made up photo from an ai, unless im misunderstanding something

I think people feel uncanny valley when looking at Selene only because they think they should do so and other people do it like some kind of confirmation bias, and also the fact that she is presented as a "creepypasta", if I think of it in that context I get uneasy too but if I ignore the eerie, missing-person-that-doesn't-exist thing, I feel literally nothing looking at her face, it's quite a normal face.

Of all face reveals I've ever come across, this is the most unexpected one yet! I guess I expected him to look a bit more... creepy?

I’m pretty certain Selene was a real person and a real missing person, most likely with limited family/lived in a more rural area. Picture is likely bad quality due to her family being poor/it being a school photo or the like. The Twitter account most likely saw the legend and figured it was an easy way to drive traffic to the account and channel. Same with the other weird vids.

ID pictures and passport/Visa pictures usually still to this day, look grainy and low quality like that in Mexico.

exactly my thought, when i got an ID last year, I was given a temporary black/white one while the card was developing, and I looked all mangled and odd. I don't get why some people think its some fake mockup when on that exact same report, there are even more messed up/creepy images

I'm from Mexico and that particular section around the early 00 was so horrible. You would rarely see new Amber Alerts so every picture was like black and white and it all felt really weird I used to look away or change the chanel while that was on. Now days, we still have that Amber Alert and it is still kind of creepy but they redesigned the whole thing. They still put weird stuff around 3 am in that channel

People say there is an 'uncanny valley' feeling about her. I am pretty sensitive to that uncanny valley feeling in media, but I don't feel that way when I see her face. Honestly I feel like she's a real missing person but since Mexico is so bad at keeping records and because of the amount of people who are not always accounted for and women who get trafficked, I honestly feel like this is a real person. And not everyone in Mexico has access to tech or the internet where they'd find out their kid was a meme. We tried tracing our family tree back and there are a lot of people in Mexico that we couldn't find or track down. If it IS a joke played by the channel, it's also possible it's just someone who is related to someone on the channel or worked there.

You have such a unique voice and I always wanted to see the person with the awesome voice and the way you explain the stories you pick:) I must say, you do not look anything like I thought you would ( good thing lol ), you are both much younger and handsome than I thought ! As a Mexican I can say that when I was a young child, I would always get scared when they passed "Servicio a la comunidad" in channel 5. They put disturbing audios to cause u a psychological effect and the images weren't clear sometimes. I would change the channel when I saw missing ppl there.

That TV segment you talked about reminded me of a TV show I saw once called ‘Missing’ it has a KZread channel under the name usamissingtv, and it’s basically what you described as they just showed pictures of missing people over X-Files like music. Funnily enough I was at my grandparent’s house with my great grandpa and it was one of the only bonding expirence we really had. I don’t think I’ll forget about it anytime soon.

Dude I feel like I'm watching David Attenborough. Not just the British accent, but the timing which you say things, keeps me engaged!

You actually look super comfortable in front of the camera. I watch a shitload of youtube and you can tell a lot of youtubers are pretty uncomfortable, but you looked pretty natural explaining the store. Great work.

I literally feel nothing looking at Selene's face, I think this is just another case of people looking too deep into a story. I feel bad for Selene, who ever she is. I think its sometimes a big rude and shitty to make up theories surrounding her existence, when she very well could be real, out there, still missing, still unidentified... It sucks. Missing persons reports always just make me sad. They don't scare me or worry me, they just leave me feeling empty and depressed. These were people. They had families, they had lives, and now they are just gone. Sometimes gone without a trace. Terrible.

@3:20 The sketch of the little boy is a case called "The boy in the container".in spanish is called "el niño en el contenedor". There was an episode that reenacted on the show called Mujer casos de la vida real. He was beaten to death by his step-father and his mom was also in on it because his father did not want to raise a child that was not his and his mom hated him too. It show the picture of the boy and his stepdad and mom. Til this day they have not been brought to justice.
