She was amazing! This concert lasted an hour long. She danced the whole time (in high heels!), no breaks, no water, and still had amazing vocals throughout (never sounded out of breath).

Geeze! An unstoppable force!

Although this song is upbeat, the lyrics are sad. It's a break up song. She compares their love to a flower. A flower must receive care and love to be beautiful (a flower represents love). The guy finds someone else. She wishes him all the best even though her heart is broken. The flower then begins to whither (they're love has died). She doesn't know if she can love again because she gave the best she could.

The guitar player is the husband and the bass player is the brother (the one with glasses). Her sister played the drums but not in this concert. I always wave back at her, well at the monitor LOL.

Selena always went to schools to motivate kids. She told kids to stay out of drugs and gangs because it would lead them nowhere in life. She told them to stay in school and get an education. To have positive attitudes and to set life goals.

Selena finished high school by correspondence. She attended university by correspondence aswell. Her major was business administration. She was on her way to completing her bachelor's degree before she died.

Selena was the kind of artist that made you forget about everything else but her. She was captivating, graceful, charismatic and oh so talented. Definitely one of a kind and she is very missed.

Ok, so this performance was Selena last song on the Astrodome, on Feb 1995, she passed away on March 31 1995, so basically a month after this performance, and at the beginning she says "I want to dedicate this song to all of you because you made this song our first hit, I hope you still remember this song" and at the end she says "we want to thank all of you for made this night possible, we broke record tonight, random applause, hugs and kisses for all of you, take care, and see you soon, thank you". You must know that Michael Jackson had performance there a month before here at Astrodome, and on that night she had more than 65,000 people there breaking Michael Jacksons assistance, that's why she was so happy, but sadly she couldn't come back for her next concert on July.

25+ years ago I didn’t think that anyone outside of my family would listen to tejano, I’ve watched almost all of y’all’s Selena reactions and it just makes me smile. Selena would have loved how far her voice has traveled with her music staying true to who she was, A Rio Grande Valley girl 💜

This was her break out song. After it's release she started to gain popularity.

Selena had a brilliant mind, here is a story of her. In 1995, when Selena was preparing to open her second boutique, she was waiting for the landscapers to arrive but for some reason they didn't arrive soon enough so instead Selena went to Home Depot and picked up the supplies and did the landscaping and planted the flowers and plants herself.

She doesn't need me to keep it alive. I am just glad to be able to enjoy her music!

She also loved her roots and never forgot who she was. At that time in Mexico and Latin America most Hispanics in popular media were light complected, blue and green eyes, and blonde hair. They looked more like Anglos than Hispanics. Selena was the first to not conform with that and was firm in her roots. Many people could relate to that. She showed many that being Hispanic was beautiful.

This live version is slightly better than the studio version, because of how she starts the beginning lyrics. Also, this is a cumbia dance, which can resemble salsa just a little bit, but the count in steps is less. If you listen closely, the beat goes 1,2,3...and...1,2,3...and...1,2,3. Notice how she rocks back on her steps to that same count. Glad you enjoyed it!

The dad the one who is in the control center doing all the technical things. Btw the dance is not the salsa but the cumbia there is a huge difference.
