Mo B I hear this a lot that Jesus is a friend of sinners. That's a big misconception. In Matthew 11:19 Jesus was addressing what people were accusing Him of being, not what was true "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and THEY say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds." He was simply addressing what He was being accused of. In John 15:14 Jesus says "You are My friends IF you do what I command you." The definition of a sinner is one who has broken the laws of God and a rebellious one. That's not keeping the commandments of God, further proving that Jesus was not a friend of sinners, but that He came to call sinners to repentance, He cares for the lost souls. But one can become His friend if they repent, believe the Gospel, and follow Him, forsaking their old ways, and best of all, will have eternal life.

Nothing wrong with ministering in song, but I'll sit myself down before I try to be a worship leader or lay on hands and pray for others while in sin. But worshipping before Lord the kind that ministers to your own broken soul really touches others. She is really putting herself out there to be attacked and criticized as she tries to get strong with God, that's the hard part, hope the church really supports these stars that are barely getting a taste of Jesus and making thier way out slowly......may God give them strength. Cause it's hard the world and church will scoff at them if they slip, that's a big step these young ones are taking.

This makes selena gomez 500% better.

This is what's wrong with the Christian church. All of these comments are talking about how she is a devil worshipper. Why won't you just let her sing without condemnation? The whole point of the Christian church is to accept openly to all types of people. How can you tell someone "come as you are" if you're judging them before they even set foot in the building? If you really want to save the world, you need to accept them and love them. Don't hate.

yes the church should accept people just at they are... however leading worship is a totally diff level...it is more then performing on stage, if you are leading a song youre heart has to be right before god... worship aslo includes your everyday relationship with jesus... how you live your life and how much you're seeking him every single day... i am not here to judge her i am not God.. however you can't film a music video "can't keep my hands to myself" that is so wordly and secular and then go on stage to lead a worship song... it just doesn't work that way... aslo this shows hillsongs relationship towards worship.. they are willing to put anybody on stage.. even just for fame...

If you've never worshipped God as a sinner then you've probably never worshipped God because we are all sinners. I'm glad God has touched her in such a way that she would sing a song in public for Him. I don't know if you've noticed, but being a Christian in the circular world is not really the most popular thing. So the fact that she was able to sing a song for God is probably a big step in her journey with Him. As Jesus said to the Pharisees who wanted to judge the adulterous woman, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Uummm I'm out :)

Honestly I love that she's singing with hillsong. She's leading people that listen to her secular music to now listen to songs like these. I think it's beautiful and I hope she keeps doing it. And how do you know one day God won't touch her heart and she'll switch to being a Christian artist. God works in mysterious ways people.

KillerWarriorX hi killer! i think you have a misinterpretation of who God really is. a huge thing about christianity is this idea of free will. people do as they do on earth, and time moves on. this is really important as if there were no bad in the world, loving God serves no purpose. also, another common misconception is how God uses his power. many people assume that "you pray and it comes true" but thats not how it works. God works in a way that doesn't suit the person, but suits himself. say someone is dying, and someone prays for said person not to die. that person dies. God answered the prayer, but maybe not in the way the person wished so. maybe God ended the life because he needed to show the praying person how life is short and to live it to its fullest - that kind of stuff. there is seriously so much more about the religion then what shows on the surface. (also dont let the bad christian's skew ur image of christianity. christianity is about loving God and people, and if they are unable to do that, question them for me!)

Look I know Selena has problems and that she is finding who she is but please as people of God lets pray for her that she will become closer to Jesus so He can transform her to look more like Him everyday. Saw Hillsong at concert last night and the night before, the new album is beautiful!

so, i´ve been reading comments of many Christians saying that selena singing at hillsong's concert is not correct. Lets make clear that selena is trying to be christian not perfect. And we should support her because not many artists like her have the courage to write a song about jesus and then singing that song at a Christian concert knowing that more of the 90% of her fans are not Christian. and if u investigate before responding u would realize that selena has been attending to hillsong's church long time before. you cannot blame a person for trying to get closer to God no matter the sins. Christians should empower this people to continue in God's path in order to reach salvation. But if we react wrong to this what she would do is get away from God because she'll feel she doesn't belong here. So lets all be kind to selena. Please and thank you.

We are Believers because we took a chance on Gods word the Bible to open it up and read it those of us who have been blessed by our Father to do so... I thank God for calling us all to come and see that His word is good and that its for us through faith in His son Jesus Christ our Lord and savior who died in our place for our sins and of the whole world so if we believe and confess we shall be saved from death into eternal life in christ Jesus forever and ever. .. "Everyone needs to believe in god yesyesyes" stfu let people have their own faith. But i do love that selena did this faithful song. God helped me alot :)

I see so much hate on this: "Christian mixing with mainstream" "selena is satan" "disgrace to get attention" While all of you "christians" are spreading hate, Selena is on stage leading worship. Do you really think God says she can't because she's been famous because of being an actress and singer? Does this mean I'm not allowed to worship God because I work in a cinema and let people go and see films with swearing in? And to those hating on "mixing with mainstream music"...isn't the gospel saying we need to go out into the world and spread Jesus love? How are we supposed to do that if we are only keeping God in tight church communities and discriminating against those who are a part of the wider world? If an A List celebrity like Selena Gomez wants to sing and write and talk about God and influence people, then she's doing everything right, because that's exactly what God wants us to do. You're all sat behind a computer spreading hate, you're the ones spreading Satan's will. I see a young woman praising God, that's not what Satan wants, that's what God wants and so she is very much a Christian. Why don't you all go out and spread Jesus love like Selena is instead of accuse her of bringing satan into the church.

Thank you for this. As a Christian it hurts to see other Christians speaking so ill of someone reaching out and praising Gods name. We don't know Selena's relationship with God so who are we to say if her love for him is ginuine or not. If anyone has a problem with Selena instead of calling her Satan and saying all of these nasty things about her why not pray for her why not send her an encouraging message on her social media share your favorite bible verse with her. The bible says if you are not doing anything with love then you are not doing anything at all. So if you feel like you want to help her send her love...it's not hard
