I completely agree on the date treatment they gave this ... people will complain about it being at an "odd" spot but totally better than messing with the 3-o'clock marker.

Great date placement. Doesn’t sacrifice half an indice. I’m all for it. Might get one of these eventually.

They are gorgeous and even more friendly for a slimmer wrist due to the thickness. I love the white dial that’s awesome!

I think my favourite white dial watch is the omega seamaster 300 pro 😊

I like this watch and I was considering picking one up, but when I saw the CW C60 Pro 300, went with the CW.

I love this case shape and size. I’m ordering for sure with the white dial and black bezel. Home run imo

It is technically a willard. Slim-willard. It is based on the 6105-8000 the father of the willard. Willard is a 6105-8110.

Coolest Prospex diver to date. The black dial SPB317 on a rubber strap or nato is where it’s at imo (but I don’t like any Seiko diver on a bracelet).

2nd favorite watch in my collection behind the Sinn 556i.

Love the white dial Slim Willard. Hoping for an orange or yellow dial down the road?

The US razor wire is a pain in the backside to size because the wire bits that comprise the "midlink" are so fidgety but once you have it sorted? They're super comfortable. I have one on my SKX007. 😊

It’s the white dial for me and I like the date the way they’ve done it. It’s a beautiful watch and I all ready have the Rdunae version of this watch which is very good to be honest. It’s the price though with this one. Is it really a thousand plus watch? I’m leaning on the side that I don’t think I’d regret it if I did buy one but it’s close. Great vid and thanks.

Just picked up the black dial lightly used in the high $600’s. I have Jaffy making me an Ologapo Band for it for that proper 1960’s diver look.

This is a great watch too !!! Like Doxa, Seiko can make diferent dial colors, like orange, yellow, blue, etc. And also, with that price, rubber strap should be included !!! Seiko, do not be stingy !!!

The more these modern prospex increase in price the more I'm happy with my SKX009 on strapcode jubilee.

I have an SK013 (36 mm version) and i truly love it! But then i got a SRPE31K - "Mini turtle" and then the Seiko SPB157 - "Alpinist" and the movement in the two new Seiko just blows the SKX out of the water, especially the 70 hours of power reserve of the Alpinist, is just great! when you have more then 1-2 automatic watches, also the dial :)

The marine master 300 clasp is 18mm so it’ll fit this. I bought one for the strapcode Bandoleer I put on my turtle.

Nice watch but I'm going with the Citizen Fugo with the white dial. The loom is top notch. Matter of fact the entire dial looks loomed on the Citizen. Thanks for the great video. Also the Citizen bezel lined up spot on.

Seiko bracelets and bezel alignment put me off them. Great review as always.

Tried one of these on at my local AD. I want one so bad, but not for that price.

For 1100 USD I don’t see why we should hand wave away their misaligned bezel.

RR- are you def picking this white dialed seiko over the scurfa ts? After handling both models...

Owned both, still have a quartz Scurfa but I hate the crystal on it.

These watches are simply gorgeous and not as big as the Seiko Willard. I'd almost buy one but $1100 is a lot of money for a Seiko Watch with just a decent bracelet and 6R movement. If I could find one for around $700 or $800 then I might buy one. Otherwise you might as well just a get a Mido Ocean Star or Hamilton Khaki Navy which both have the Powermatic 80 movement.

Let Seiko keep it for $1k. I remember when I got my skx007 for $130 or so and still happy with it. Good review and I did enjoy video 👍

I was close to getting the white dial one, too. But, I ended up going with the green Willard. I think the inspiration is clear, but, how would u compare this to the Nodus Avalon?

Looking at that case design makes me think that the Doxa 300 t was inspired by this watch.

What is up with that clasp?

I picked up the Land Tortoise instead. 70% of the watch for a third of the price.

I'd take this over an SPB 143 any day.

I have never paid MRSP for a seiko, there are always sales. Average I paid 30% for new Seikos in AD.

$1,100 for a 2 micro adjust pressed outer clasp, and a misaligned bezel. Is a no go.

You are paying for the name, for the legacy, for one of the greatest watch brands in the history of horology. Get it right okay.

Black leather band would work on the while dial.

symmetric lume markers > 3 o'clock date window

Does it line up? Pretty close. $1100 MSRP. Okay.

There were a lot of "it's a Seiko" caveats on this watch for a grand. For that money, I'd expect a fully milled clasp, not a pressed clasp over a milled fold over. And thst bracelet sounded so jangly. For that money I'd rather get a CW - which comes with a swiss movement and a clasp with easy adjust micro adjust built in. It's got a pretty dial and bezel, but I don't see a $1k watch here.

Nice, but not $1100 nice. Seiko prices are going a bit nuts now. You can get a lot better (quality) for that kind of money from micro brands. I paid $250 for a new Sarb033 just over three years ago, and even taking into account inflation I can't see where a 4 time price rise for something like this is coming from other than Seiko's price restructuring of model lineups and distribution channel discipline.

If you consider the cost of labor in China to the cost of labor to produce a watch in Japan, then it makes more sense. You do get what you pay for. It's like comparing Craftsman life time warranty tools, with Harbor freight and tool. That 99¢ screwdriver is one time use. But you saved a lot of money.

@@drbobsnightmare2521 So why can I get a full Swiss made / movement watch for significantly less? Checked the price of labour and cost of living in Switzerland recently? It's more expensive than Japan. A CW Trident 300 on bracelet can be had for less than this Turtle... And I know which is better quality, and it's not the Seiko 😉. Yes the Seiko is going to market through a now locked down distribution channel, no more greys. But that's my point - that channel is constructed by Seiko and someone somewhere is gouging a lot of money from these RRP's. If someone can make a profit three years ago on a Japanese made Sarb033 at @ $250 then no chance is 3 years inflation taking up an extra 850 on this Turtle!

I really like the date position. You forget it’s there until you need to know the date.

I believe "slim" refers to it being 41mm instead of 44mm like the turtle. 12.5mm would be "thin". Slim refers to diameter I believe.

Slim turtle Willard already has its nickname, can’t come out later (current release) and bump the one out already. Could be slim willard maybe? It’s based on the 6105-8000 so maybe call it the 8000? 🐢

Seiko needs to get rid of that diver extension. It's ugly AND uncomfortable. Besides the fact that 99.99% of buyers won't even use it...

At this price they should add the marine master clasp. They’re 80 bucks on eBay so it would be very cheap for seiko to add them
