    Thanks mate. It is a lot of value for the money for sure. I like Swiss also but this does beat a lot of them in what I like to see in a watch.

    Superb watch! James Porter is a great shop - I've got all my Sinn, GS and Seiko there. I went for the SNR049 from the LX line, but I was very tempted by the 043. That exact one, in fact! Wear it well fella! Seeing it on film makes me want to track one down...

    @@TheWesternPacific well the video is just a month old and I've had the watch for 2 years before that so I guess it will remain my favourite and the jewel of the collection for a long while. Maybe just to mention that in principle you have to service the SD movements every 5 years and that can only be done in Japan I guess. I will need to find that out.

    How is the PVD coating holding up? Love the look but I am worried about the black fading or scratching

  • @watchgambit

    @watchgambit

    Жыл бұрын

    It's not going to fade. PVD is not a surface coating. The colour is embeded into the molecules as I understand it. But I'm not the expert so google it yourself... 😀

    Really like your videos and the review of this specific watch. I am thinking to pull the trigger on the current production SNR031. I hope it will be OK considering the fact that the spring drive is a new technology. Please share your thoughts and experience on this. Thanks.

    How do you compare it to the mm300?

  • @watchgambit

    @watchgambit

    Hi. Lighter, higher, better finish and obviously the spring drive magic versus the pretty good 8L I have in my SLA. I’ll put it this way that I wouldn’t mind selling my MM300 but the SNR is mine forever

    @watchgambit stoked to hear, this will be my next timepiece. Edit: these are a man's man's watch. They're meant to look big and badass and also be legible and badass. I'm really excited. I recently bought a Seiko srq029 automatic speedtimer and it's 16mm too (but 2mm is the sapphire crystal, which is beautiful), so I kind of know 16mm size isn't as big as people want to talk sh*te about it. They'd for sure buy one if they could afford it, but the high-end seikos like the lx line seems so out of grasp for 95% of people's budget. So they hate on it and claim they'd rather have a GS or whatever 🙄. I'm not dismissing their opinion on that these are big watches, they are, but thats the point of the design. Having the highest end Seiko is cool in of itself, a spring drive... I'm buying what I like, not what other people like haha. The omega planet ocean is bigger at 16mm+ and a lot of people seem to absolutely love those. Yours is so nice dude! I'm blown away by how good it looks, pictures do not do justice. Great video 😊
