I always found the Mega Play and Mega Tech systems incredibly interesting because of how the Mega Drive was initially heavily marketed as "bringing the arcade to your home" and now they were bringing the home console games to the arcade, great to see one in beautiful nick.
Quality work by the entire team. Special mention to Holly for resurrecting the monitors.
Congratulations to the entire team on this genuinely EPIC restoration. A tribute to you all.

Not many people will notice the new kick plate and rubber but I bet a lot more would notice the scuffed and tired ones. Nice job all!

Unfortunately, that's how it usually goes.
If I ever get to visit you and the cave, the first thing I'm going to say is "oooo! What a lovely bit of black rubber there!"
You should get a copy of the restoration on a memory stick, along with stills of the process, get the team together to sign a photo, and fix it in the back of the machine for future generations to see.

flash memory has a pretty limited data retention, especially when never getting powered on to let it error correct flipped bits. Unlike other forms of storing data like burned rom chips or fram. It can get enough bits flipped to not read in a matter of ten years. Optical media is the best for longevity if it's a high quality sandwiched design (foil layer encapsulated by the plastic).

VHS would probably be most helpful for anyone trying to restore this thing a second time. ;)

In 1000 years when historians are trying to pinpoint exactly when peak KZread was, I think this video could be a contender
This is a great preservation video! You really care about these classic arcades and computers and it makes me happy :)
When the world gets me down it's nice to think of people like Neil and his team following their passions and spreading happiness.
Amazing ...really liked the system and how it was handled...congratulations !
Many thanks for the detail you and your friends/team puts into these videos, especially for us here in the states. Wish I could visit the cave, but these are the next best thing.
Having done a bit of arcade restoration myself I can genuinely say that this is a superb job. Congratulations and well done to everyone involved. Fabulous!

Thank you that's really kind
Fantastic work. I'm from Montreal, except for a layover at Heathrow, I've never been to the UK. I've caught myself looking at where is Stroud on Google Maps. I might have to try to sell this trip to my wife, tell her about the beautiful castles and manors.😆

You’re welcome and thank you for taking the time to watch
I followed this, and I am truly stunned and proud of ALL of you. This is a wonderful addition to the museum. Now, to my other point. You guys need a museum cat. Imagine a cat walking across your Gauntlet cabinet. 🐈

If i ever make holiday in england, i think my first visit would be your site. Nice video!
An absolutely amazing refurbishment of a piece of history maybe a lot of people didn't even knew existed before seeing your videos (One of them people being me!). Well done to all involved.
What an incredible achievement! Considering where it came from, this is truly amazing. Well done team!
Fantastic restoration. Also great to be amongst the first to try it. If anyone is on the fence about visiting the cave. I'd highly recommend it. We all had a fantastic day.
Everyone's done a great job at getting this cab look immaculate, especially considering how it originally looked. I'm particularly impressed at how Holly repaired that driver board for the CRT in last episode. Repairing those traces and she made it look perfect. Small thing I know, but I'm easily pleased.
I think Holly might actually be magical judging by that work
fantastic work team, love the finished cabinet. You can tell how much passion for everything you do at the cave.
The lack of *Genuine Sanwa Arcade Parts* disturbs me greatly
Beautiful! And highly rewarding to follow you on this journey.
Well done all involved! Such attention to detail is very pleasing to me. Excellent job! It looks amazing guys.
Fantastic restoration job on this system! Amazing! Keep it up!❤
Absolutely stunning, great job guys!
You guys really brought this back from the dead, nicely done.
Great teamwork! You're champions of conservation.
Congratulations to the entire team
Amazing job by everyone, and what a legend Holly is!

It takes a special type of woman to be so happy in what can be, all too often, a man's world. She's got some balls that one.
Take a bow, all of you. What a fantastic restoration by all the team, some serious skills on show 👍. Amazing to see what happens when everyone pulls together 👍👍👍.
Neil, please use a respirator mask next time you cut MDF! The dust is pretty toxic.

Amazing work by everyone involved!
I think anyone who comes out should make a point to comment on the kickplate and rubber lol. Those vents are great for sure. A nice job all around.
Great job all!! The vinyl looked great in person, shame it came away at the edges.
Excellent work. Always a joy to see old tech brought back to life.
Looks really REALLY good! Superb restoration.
Great video again :) Thanks for taking the time to make it and share the adventure
This has been a great video series, I've really enjoyed seeing all of the skills and hard work that have gone into the restoration.
Excellent technical depth in here!
Absolutely a thing of beauty! Well done!!
You all did a wonderful job ! Nice group effort! Another piece of history saved 😊
That cabinet looks immaculate. Great job!
Great set of 4 vids Neil. Enjoyed everyone and the results are stunning. Look forward to popping down and trying it out in person Well done to everyone that put the hard work in
Fantastic work. Would love to jump over the pond and pay a visit.
Amazing work everyone! It looks fantastic!
Fantastic restoration, great teamwork!
@9:30 congrats on not also cutting a cave table in half making doors, I would've totally done that
i have loved watching this rebuild! ty for all the hard work! it shows and its amazing! 🙌🏻👏🏻
Great work, the whole team has done a marvellous job on restoration, long may it be enjoyed.
That vinyl application really brought back some memories for me. I'd love for you to hunt down and do a restoration of a Sega Traveller. It's in no way a good game but I promise you will have never played a game quite like it.
A great restoration. You clearly enjoy the process and it was great to watch
Great restoration, guys! So much fun to see this cab come back to its former glory!
incredible work!
Beautiful work team! amazing job
Great work from all the team. Cheers.
It looks fantastic. Very impressive.
Congrats to your and your team on a fantastic restoration, Neil! Another Mega-Tech lives on! To a Mega Drive kid like myself growing up, owning one of these (or one of the rare Mega Drive PC', either one) would have been like the holy grail to me in the 90's!
That looks magnificent, congrats!!
What an incredible effort by the whole team, with incredible results!
Excellent work! Well done to everyone involved!
Outstanding. Well done everyone.
Amazing job! That machine is awesome
What a great restoration, glad to see it working again.
great restoration! loved watching the progress!
Very good all involved, yes vinyls can be temperamental with weather and type of it. MD5 is very good quality vinyl. Good to see it finished
This was a great series to follow, keep up the great work!
Loved to play on this arcade cab back in the day at my swimming baths, you have done a super amazing job on this, looks fresh from the factory 👍👍
A beautiful restoration. Well done to all!

Holly is a hero!
Great restoration, amazing!
Those Sega grills! *chef's kiss*
what a sight to behold... one of the most goreous cabinettes i,ve seen... looks so cool with those dual screens
Great work! 👍
Such a fantastic restoration and a great series of videos. I agree with keeping some of the patina, its like the Japanese style Wabi-sabi, perfect in its imperfection. The whole team provided great work on this one.
