SEEING RICH LITTLE COMEDY IN LAS VEGAS | Double Toasted Bites

SEEING RICH LITTLE COMEDY IN LAS VEGAS | Double Toasted Bites - Impressions of famous people can be very entertaining at times and maybe your parents are fans of Rich Little and have searched "piggies slot machine", "Rich Little Johnny Carson", "Rich Little Christmas Carol", "Rich Little Roasts Don Rickles" and things of such nature, but Korey was able to attend one of his shows recently in Las Vegas and well ... it really did seem that he was froze in time making jokes that many of our audience would probably know nothing about, and yet ... Korey recommended it!

I was 3 years old when Rich Little wrote his last joke, but I still remember the dude. I had no idea he was still alive, and I'm shocked to learn he's still performing. I would have had a blast watching him wallow in his irrelevance with you guys.

That Rich Little is even alive surprises me! That he's 85 and still performing is amazing! I loved all those impressionists back in the 70's (I'm 57). Many comedians do hit a wall as they get older, and then they settle down in Vegas or Branson, MO (if that's still a thing).

Rich Little became famous after an appearance on the Judy Garland show in the 1960s. By the 1970s he was in high demand. He became a regular guest on the Tonight Show in which his spot-on impression of Johnny Carson stole the show. Johnny pretended to be a good sport for the cameras however in private he did not like getting upstaged by Rich Little. President Ronald Reagan once said that Rich "did me better than I do myself." That was certainly the case when Rich impersonated Johnny Carson and is likely why Johnny eventually stopped inviting him. Reagan left the White House in 1989 and it seemed that Rich Little's career went with him. The iconic celebrity impressionist quickly fell into obscurity in the 1990s. The reason for this is Rich was indeed frozen in time. He never left the 1980s. If he had learned how to do President George H.W. Bush's voice and other celebrities that were relevant in the 1990s it's possible he could have remained relevant for several more decades. It's good that he is still performing in 2024 however it's the same old dated material. The audience who still remember that routine isn't in the majority anymore. Very few people alive today know who Jack Benny was.

In the mid 80s, when my dad got an answering machine.. he got a Rich Little outgoing message tape... it was... terminally unfunny. The one i remever for some reason was the John Wayne message where he says "I can shoot the wings off a fly in mid air * pause* I can?... Leave a Message or youll be dead where ya sit"... and then he says "Yyyo" for some damn reason. Even when i was like 7 years old i thought he was a hack.

Even in the early 2000s Opie and Anthony with Patrice O'Neal roasted his impersonations.

LOL, this show sounds like boomer hell. He can't even do Trump?! One of the most over-impersonated people in history, but he can only do Biden? COME ON!

Meh, the Trump jokes and impersonations have grown stale, it's low hanging fruit at this point. Hence why I don't like Kimmel, dude is obsessed with him like a creepy, stalker ex

At 85 what is he doing. The time to retire was decades ago. André-Philippe Gagnon is a much better impressionist.
