See You On The Other Side, whole w/ solo (Ozzy Osbourne guitar cover)

Upload date: August 13th, 2010. Update/disclaimer/copy-paste, Autumn '17 I'm going to be attaching this to whichever of my early-year videos (i.e. this) that I now somewhat cringe at more than smile, whether playing-wise, tone-wise, or obnoxious audio buzzing/clipping-wise (the 100 MB upload limit back then surely didn't help either in terms of video quality)...but what do I expect? I was much more of a care-free and noob/rube player back then, and I was bound to improve in the years since...so even though I cringe now, it's not quite enough for me to delete altogether, and I can at least semi-appreciate it for what it is and as a marker/reference of where I once was...IIIIIIIII'm LERNDING! ;P There might be the possibility of me re-doing/improving upon this eventually, but if I don't, oh well, "it is what it is" I guess - good, bad, and ugly. XP Anyway, if you happen to find this, enjoy the ahenn84 "vault/archive", and on to the original description below. (For this video - it's namely the audio buzzing/clipping in the clean tones that bothers me the most, grrrr!)
My rendition of the Ozzy Osbourne song "See You On The Other Side", 5th track on the "Ozzmosis" album. It was rather tough to find even decent tones/effects for this song, let alone good ones, so I just went with whatever (I probably should have added a little distortion to the natural harmonics at the end to make them stand out a bit more). A lot of effects and overdubs in this song, so you can't exactly get it all in a live rendition anyway. But hope you enjoy never-the-less.

@ChrisJ926 Long after...I had a hard time finding electricity, guitars, amps, recording gear and the internet 2,000 years ago lol ;)
FIRTST TIME I HEARD THIS SONG , THE OPENING GUITAR JUST MADE ME FALL APART , IT,S SO DIFFERENT , IT SOUNDS LIKE OLD RUSH , AND INSTANTLY MADE ME CRY.
Finally I've been watiting for another cover for ages lol good job bro keep rockin' x) lml
Love this song... Nice to see you back dude. \m/
Beautiful job on this Andrew! :-D
superb job as always, andy! :D
@ramsessndvlrms you're welcome, and you certainly don't need nice guitars as I have in order to learn/play, all you need is time, practice, patience and as you've already mentioned: inspiration, and I'm glad I could be of some to you. And also, I surely didn't start out with the guitars I have, when I first started playing it was on a cheap acoustic guitar, and then my first electric guitar was merely a Strat-copy.
u are amazing man
I love this song.. Nice cover man!
Hell yeah I loved it
I have been looking for a video of Ozzy performing this song live, and have yet to find one. I have seen ozzy at leat 10 times over the years, and the only time he did See you on the Other side was in 1996 in Portland Oregon. I have not since heard him do it. You rock on guitar man.. keep rocking!!
@lildude234 thanks a lot, and it's no trouble regarding the advice, glad I could be of some help.

Pretty dang good. It was kind of weird to see Ozzy on stage without Zakk.
Cool cover, I actually hadn't heard this song until you played it.
Chris from fb also, anyway great job man!!!!! Loved it!!!
@BoburtoJr123 No, I've had this guitar for a while, and yes it's an ESP KH-3

Thanks a lot, and I will indeed try to keep it up (contrary to my current lack of new videos, but I'll certainly post more eventually)
@2702901 no trouble, I used the "Ozzmosis" tab book version as a basic layout, and then changed a few things here and there. There aren't any good online versions I'm aware of, which lead me to check out the book.
Amazing playing

@cardawg29 thanks a lot, yeah it was kind of tough in some areas since I couldn't find any live footage of Ozzy and Zakk doing this song either, so I just figured out what I could by ear.
To answer everyones question when did jesus learn to play guitar.....March 19 1982 His teacher arrived.....THE IMMORTAL RANDY RHOADS.
@CrushedJustice I think it's 24.75", which is the standard size for a Les Paul/Eclipse style of guitar. Kirk's other sigs are 25.5" though since they're more of a Stratocaster-style (which are 25.5"). Now that I think about, I know the Jackson RR1 I have is 25.5" for sure, and that has an ever so slightly larger feel to it than the KH-3, so it's a good bet the KH-3 is indeed 24.75"
thanks very much
never heared this song thanks. im 15,, i been playing guitar like a year . i dont have such a nice guitar . but you give me inpiration to keep playing thanks
Excellent Dude!! Way better than I could have done…

CONGRATULATIONS ...
@CrushedJustice No, it's an average-sized guitar, just looks small on me because I'm 6 feet tall and wearing a baggy shirt.

@1stbornunicorn thanks a lot :)
@Emiliethebest Sure, I'll do what I can, for which parts?
@2702901 It just takes time and practice, I'm a firm believer that if I can do it anyone can since I'm not all that musically inclined (I can't even read it).
Nice sound
@coldbluerain thanks a lot
@StringBender420 Where does it say or even imply I'm hating on Stevie Nicks? I was simply replying to mrvern2u that if those are the only "credentials" he has when it comes to guitar playing/videos (instead of actually having videos of his own playing) then he had no business talking trash...especially on a video/music genre that's completely unrelated to what he was favoring on his channel at the time (i.e. Stevie Nicks, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, etc.)
you look like rex brown in older vids it was more like cliff burton tho, but beside that, you are awesome i hope one day i will be as good as you
I didnt know jesus could jam!
@thekrystalmethod Thanks again as always :)

Good one then!
Did you post this before or after you walked on water? :)
I actually stumbled upon it accidentally on ebay and was lucky enough to have the winning bid.
😎👏👏👏
@ahenn84 is the scale on it 25.5"?
can u post a video with a tutorial as to how to play the intro ?
bbro... i have a big request... i have got tabs for the intro but cannot figure it out... can you post a video while in it you teach it?
ozzy graças a DEus vc está escluido da minha vida.
@ahenn84 Ah well... awesome job regardless
Awesome cover !!, try making these covers with a backing track, that would be even better ! :D
is the kh3 really that small?
Where did you get this guitar from?
Dude, do u know any pantera? That would be awsome if u did.
What tuning is this in?
What are you using in the signal chain for the intro part?
@ahenn84

Chorus and delay...which came with the amp I use (Line 6 Spider 3 150-watt combo version), and the foot switch board I use (a Line 6 FBV Shortboard) is just an extension of that.

@@HueYing You're welcome!
How are you setup for that Intro Clean part
@ahenn84
5 жыл бұрын
Effects-wise, it's delay and chorus (which were settings/features included with the amp I used - Line 6 Spider 3 150-watt combo). Unfortunately, I don't recall what the other aspects were in terms of bass, treble, mid levels, etc...but the top-2 main factors were definitely delay and chorus.

You're certainly welcome...yeah, when it comes to the actual song, I'm guessing there were additional effects involved to create that sort of clean tone, such as probably tape-echo, as well as what's known as the 'Leslie effect', so if you were to look those up, they might help too.
what is the name of the effect used in the beginning?
@ahenn84
Жыл бұрын
I used a mix of several: delay and chorus...although, for the actual song, I think Zakk might have used what's called a "Leslie effect" (if that's of any help).

@ahenn84 Yes folks, I said "AGAIN" because this clown commented once before...I don't know about you, but if I saw a 'bad' video, I wouldn't even watch let alone comment on it AGAIN...congrats on getting blocked verny ;)

In all honesty, it most likely would get a lot more attention/traction with a name like that, but I've never been the click-bait type and don't want to start hahaha.
Great Jesus your playing a song about heaven nice nice skills play some pantera Metallica nirvana silverchair,and idk
@mrvern2u Not nearly as bad as your spelling...let's see you do better, oh wait, that's right, you're too busy listening to Stevie Nicks, Mariah Carey and Rihanna...good one! If it truly sucked it wouldn't have a 45-to-1 like vs. dislike ratio and you wouldn't be spending time watching and commenting on it...AGAIN. Now quit trolling and get off mommy and daddy's computer verny-boy...which by the way, if you're angry, go take it out on them because that's who you're truly mad at. ;)
