See James Webb Space Telescope's view of Neptune in stunning 4K
Ғылым және технология
The James Webb Space Telescope's Near-Infrared camera (NIRCam) captured stunning imagery of Neptune. It is the "clearest view of this peculiar planet’s rings in more than 30 years,” according to ESA/NASA. Full Story: www.space.com/james-webb-spac...

Please, shut up if you don't have an idea of what you're talking about.
I knew Saturn had a ring belt, but not Neptune. It's a privilege to see these pictures. Many thanks to NASA's JWT for its due diligence in capturing these images and posting them for us.

Yeah, a lot of people don't realize it because so few images circulate of the planet with the best images taken so long ago. Jupiter surprised me when they discovered them, although It really shouldn't have been considering there are soooo many moons clanking around .

Neither of those are currently in the right place for Webb to view as it has to keep pointing almost directly away from the sun - there not a huge range in the field of view. Uranus should be available in a few months if I’m looking the current planet positions correctly, but Proxima will have to wait nine months or so I think.

Marvellous
It's a beautiful planet in infrared, 👩🏽🚀👨🏿🚀
so fkn magical, yeah !
que buenos efectos de comoitadora...que juego es ?..y por que las estrellas que veo desde mi casa y brillan tan fuerte en ese video se van todas para el fondo como que son timidas a la camara no ?
Let's check out Uranus 🙌
It's ONE still photograph. What's with the moving it around and playing symphony music?
I have to admit, that is sooo beautiful. The Ice Giants need some more attention

Does the patterning of the starlight indicate miss alignment?

Our eyes can't see infrared so a "true colour" image of Neptune in infrared like this one would appear *_black._* However, this image taken by the only spacecraft that has visited Neptune so far (Voyager 2 in 1989) is reasonably close to what our eyes would see. voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/assets/images/galleries/images-voyager-took/neptune/neptunex.gif
Why does it look so pixelated? I thought JW telescope could capture super high quality pictures.... Can someone explain?
@aapple3595

Because the image taken was mostly a small Neptune with its surrounding area.

I think it’s about to explode.. that’s not a moon.. that’s a battle station
Neptune orbit is unique because of the effects of a solar system's barred arms gravitational forces.

waste of resource. why on earth do they want to do that? We already know about plenty of earth. infra red spectrum can't reveal more information. also quite not possible. reflect heat alone can mess with sensor.

It's honestly not a very good picture at all in terms of resolution. Hubble has taken substantially clearer, sharper images very recently. Yeah you can see the rings ok but overall it's fairly meh, really.

Neptune's diameter is less than half of Saturn's while being over three times farther away. The resolution also gets lower when using infrared light with longer wavelength than visible light, but the rings are much brighter in infrared.
