Peter Pan Jesus is indeed who he needs coz Jesus made it so that all sin is irrelevant as his death paid for our sin, its only about getting to know God. Maybe if he had of said something about Amazon supporting "Moron Socialists" Id be right there helping him dig!! but.. one sin is as bad as the next... but yeah it was a bit or a turn of conversation a bit of a laugh!

A lot better than getting bags of concrete to test the suspension on the truck & my back.I wonder how this would work on my property. You don't have the typical dark red Tennessee soil/dirt, like we do in Northeast TN.

FiremanCV I've been using it in VA clay. Works well, but use it in warm weather.

Bet that foam would work great with bamboo fibers mixed in with it. Bet a foam concrete mixer would work if you were using this type of foam to make long lasting dome structures. Be neat to make lite domes you can cover with brick wood or cement canvas shingles and have a very durable shelter.

The process looks a lot easier and quicker with your product, dsarti1. Fence post concrete costs $4 a bag (50 lbs) at HardWare Stores. Concrete is a lot of work. The Secure Set is sold in various quantities than just the quantity in your link. It's possible to buy enough Secure Set for 5 fence posts for $40. As said earlier, it looks easier & quicker.

A big hardware store will rent a One-Man fence post auger for $75 for the entire day. A person can buy the gasoline auger too, for about 3 times that price. A lot of fencing can be quickly installed with an auger and dsarti1's product.

Take some plastic sheets that you can lay flat coat one side with something the foam will not bind to. Cut plastic sheets into pieces you can lock together to form a hollow inbetween in the shape of a dome. Then make one in the shape of a flat bottom bowl. Use that foam to make foam dome top and foam bottom the dome top is glued to to form a dwelling. Let it harden make another foam dome larger to fit over it. Use concrete canvas cut into squares with a screw strip riveted to one side cover the outside of dome with concrete canvas shingles water down and let it cure. A bug out survival shelter system with some other components of course. You could make a foam bottom with a foam dome that slipped into the bottom with a larger foam dome fitting over the top of the small dome and connecting to the bottom half for extra insulation and a stronger structure. A bag of plastic forms couple bottles of foam and you could knock out a few domes that you could connect for an emergency shelter system. What do you think about this idea? = )

Interesting idea. I too am wondering about ways to mold dome parts with this foam. Here is a dome I've designed that was cut from plywood pieces. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6KN2LyKc8THZJs.html

Need to make a machine that turns those components into workable foam so you could use it just like cement. Pour it into molds and cover plastic mesh or wire mesh to make walls and other structures like underground water cisterns ponds and stuff like that. Be neat to make a dome out of chicken wire cover the inside with a thick bendable plastic sheet with about an inch of space from the chicken wire then cover it with foam and let it set. Then remove the plastic sheets and cover the inside of the dome with a fabric after cutting holes for windows and doors then placing framed windows and doors into holes and weather sealing everything up.

Note to self: don't mix as much to pour in the hole and you wouldn't get the mushroom overflow.

True. What all these concrete alternative videos leave out is the calculation of the post hole volume dug to the amount of product to mix for ideal fill.

You want the mushroom affect.. I worked for the DoD Army in civilian capacity it. We used it on certain things,But replacing the old broken down foam.. The perfect thing to do for best affect. Cap the hole with a board covered in plastic sheeting.. Spray the sheeting with WD-40 PLACE a brick on top of it.. by doing that it forces the foam into every nook and cranny, the foam will lift the board and brick . This also compresses the expanding foam making it more dense and stronger.. Cut off ground level excess foam.

How does this stuff REACT to UV? I have a feeling sunlight might do more to it than a few termites would!

uv will discolor it on the surface, but you still better of filling enough to just be below the surface or cut off the excess with a knife or saw and cover with dirt for more natural aesthetic.

Personally, I would rather use quickrete. Although this is a nice alternative I believe concrete is more durable and will last longer. We just replaced the bulk of our wooden fence, all in we spent $200.00 on Quikrete to be used with 28 treated 4x4's.

Time is money in my line of work. If 4 gallons 20 post that makes this product a a whole lot cheaper than concrete by the time my help tote and mix concrete. At a cost of $150 that for 20 post and my payroll is $100 a hour. That s some good stuff

This is most useful when time is of the limit if you're a busy weekend warrior type or have physical issues and lugging 60 lb bags of 'quick' set concrete along with water source and other tools to mix with and in add to the time despite it takes at least 24 hrs for the concrete to set before you move on to the rest of the project. Like I said, if your work life keeps you too busy at the time to deal with going back to the same projects over a few days time and getting done in a timely enough manner, this foam option makes much quicker work and of the three makers I know of say it takes at least 15 minutes to set but 2 hours to "fully expand". One can easily do the project in the same day and not have to wait for it to set. Of the testing videos I have seen since first seeing this stuff 5 or so years ago I come to like it better than using the hydrophilic concrete which tends to lead to even a treated post rotting sooner than expected, the fact it is just in a bag for small projects, the gallon makes more sense when you compared to the price per bag for a larger number of posts makes more sense to use than bags. It is still much less stuff to lug around compared to 'quickcrete' and less waiting for it to set, and the test videos prove it is stronger if not only as strong as concrete and has been used in the utility sector for at least 20 years now.

This was a poorly executed and sloppy job. Used Secure Set foam for fence posts many times. It's easy to use, clean, and very rigid when set.

Maybe so but he gave all the relevant info for using the product.

2 part expanding foam won't be as secure as concrete nor will it keep the wood from rotting, it will minimize water transfer from the soil but traps surface water in the wood. Wish we could still get real creosote and the old time pressure treated wood.

It will be more secure and is impervious to moisture, This is not your standard foam when it expands in the hole it compacts the soil and grabs hold better than concrete

Just pour your old motor oil around the base of your posts every time you do an oil change. Who needs creosote;-)

one bag at 60 lbs, dusty and silica is bad for ones health blah blah blah, then also need to get water to mix with and a bucket and shovel to mix with, this is far bar than the bags of concrete lugging and handling and no need for other than some cups or larger small buckets made from paper to mix the two parts and it even comes in presized bags by at least three known companies even this one offers it by the bag, the gallons are great for 'larger' jobs depending on size of pole and hole or number of small post to do compared to number of bags per price each. Especially when its a 'remote' job where it could be more hassle with concrete, water and a wheel barrow or hand pulled wagon to get thhe said bags of mix and buckets of water to the location,, the foam set you can just carry in a shopping bag and all you also need is a knife or scissors to cut open for pouring after mixing the two formerly separate parts even easier than trying to pump or get a truck of mix to each hole.

All good on the helpfulness of the video... except for your final comment.

LOL. I hate Amazon for the same reasons, pardner.

I have grown to dislike Amazon as well..........and largely for the same reasons.
