Very nice episode, extremely well done Andy. Your drone work on this report is superb, nicely edited. You made those fallen vehicles on the deck of the Julie B. look like Tonka Toys. I will say that final rotation in the turning basin was a noteworthy example of skilled seamanship and coordination by the service tugs. The Kurt J. skipper was churning-up some serious mud in restricted quarters.

It's good to see progress, but at this rate the powers that be have got to be rethinking their original salvage plan. 1) Wire cutting is obviously faster and the water is shallow so spud barges used on earlier jobs were entirely feasible. 2) Heck, given the shallow water they could have built a massive cofferdam, drained the water and had at it on "dry land" with cutting torches, just like the scrapper yards. Oh whale, it is what it is.

Absolutely top draw that footage is sir. My kids and myself have been avid watchers of your coverage for several months now. They have been off school for near enough 12 months due to covid and it has been our daily watch after home schooling has finished. We are watching from Merthyr Tydfil ,South Wales , United Kingdom 🏴

Seeing the cars falling onto the deck of the barge, wonder how many fell out at the wreckage site. Assuming divers will have to find any.

It's just where they had room at the port. MM
Great drone work Andy! You can really get a good appreciation for how packed with debris that hull is. Do you expect them to remove more cars and loose debris before they depart for the recycling facility in Louisiana?

Yes, absolutely. Some were barely hanging on. MM
Once again Andy, thank you for sharing this event with us out here. Is that your drone recording the movement? Man those tugs work so well together.
That big ole' Kurt J Crosby is a monster of a tug!!!

January 5, 2015 the car transporter "Hoegh Osaka" ran aground off the English coast and ended up listing at 52 degrees, which destroyed most of the 1,200 Jaguars and Land Rovers on board.
Great subject matter!
It's such a collosal waste. The insurance company probably thinks so, too!

I got to figure that one out. MM
Oh whale, it is what it is.
are these cars being discounted ?
Excellent coverage Andy. Do you know what the cost will be when completed? Thanks for your videos. :-)

I don’t. Not sure anyone does. MM
How many sections will they cut?🤔🤔🤔
Fascinating.
Wonder what the displacement is on that barge. How deep is the draft on it? Looks like they spilled a few cars somewhere along the way...

I had a spec page on the barge in one of the videos. If you search Julie B. barge you'll find it. MM
Of all of your videos which one demonstrates the cutting chain visually??

Wow, Look at all the toy cars...
Are they docking right next to the building were they will be reconditioned or stripped for parts? Just wondering?
