Loading, Securing and transporting these huge sections is about as stressful as it gets.. Each aspect of this operation has been amazing..

Thank you for posting these videos. I was down at St.Simons with a friend working on a Condo on the beach back in March of this year. We got to see Weeks Marine work on the Golden Ray every day.Your videos of the VB 10000 are amazing! Once again thank you for keeping us all informed about the progress. Thanks again for your videos! And congrats to the crew of the VB to complete this first cut! It must have been a giant relief for them to see the chain finally coming through and all the steps from there going as planned. Lifting and putting it on cradle as it was supposed to go. Nice. amazed they made a brace to fit perfectly .what a great job , and the lift braces that were welded on was a perfect job . but it is a little top heavy right now to travel in the ocean . that chain made a great clean cut...great videos thanxs

I fish these waters and that gives me a vested interest in the project. I must say that the teams assembled here have been doing an excellent job minding the environmental concerns. We all know that there is going to be debris and contamination that makes it into the water. It’s how it’s handled once that happens and so far, it has been done very efficiently. MM

My dad just started his hitch as captain on the kurt J I'm not sure of the captain at the time of this filming but we always watch boats on KZread and never has he been recorded working but the greatest of all the size of the boat he is a captain on put into scale is amazing and I'm very proud to say that that's my dad's boat

That's the Kurt J. Crosby at the rear of the barge. It's a vessel called an Anchor Hoy and it's 20 years old now! It's there for the salvage operation of Merchant Vessel Golden Ray RO-RO Carrier that's unfortunately being scrapped out now. That Versabar 10,000 Crane is impressive!! Awesome video!!

How long does it take for the chain to make one cut completely thru? I was at the St Simons pier area Friday afternoon from about 3-4:30 & took a few pics with my phone. It’s awesomely cool that the first barge is named the same as me! 😁

Are they using the same technic as was used to remove the bow of the Russian sub Kursk?

not quite sure if that is a collapsed section of the hull, or a deliberate dimple in the hull, tad dark-colored with the shadow of the Kiel over that spot. hmmm. just thinking out loud random text for the algorithm, sure there is a better light view somewhere. drrp, didn't notice the reupload of this, thats just the anchor opening and anchor, iffy location however a nothing item.
