Looks like the Super International 4Lane set comes with two of their ‘tri-power’ power supplies. Safe to assume that, for a 4Lane setup, a user would need two of the adjustable power supplies you’re advocating for? Or can one of these adjustable power supplies run the whole show? Thanks!

The Auto World power supply has 2 amps which is plenty for running all four lanes. A second connector plug would need to be added to it though.

So after someone buys the most expensive set on the market you suggest that they spend another $40 on the power supply and buy different cars that dont come in a 4 car set? I would not suggest doing any of that! The Infinity Set by AFX is $99 and that is a beginners set.

Thanks for the great comment. I was just working on a video on how much it costs for a good 1st experience racing slot cars. Yes I think a beginner should ONLY buy the Super International set. The Infinity set, like all too many sets made in the last fifty years, is too small to actually drive the cars and is inadequate. The problem is the controller is held at a constant throttle and this set becomes boring after five minutes of use. So I think it is an awful first experience for a beginner. The Super International set has enough straight track sections that a layout that requires actual driving skill can be made. This set allows beginners to learn how to drive and race. IF other brands and vintages of cars are used, which is the 2nd thing most guys do is to get different cars; typically Auto World cars or their old cars. They get really frustrated with the lack of throttle control and are told by internet experts to purchase $320 of electronic controllers. Instead I tell them a slot car secret - the power supply is the most important factor for throttle control. And all they need is a $30 adjustable voltage power supply. I think your comment is very important because we need to have a method to guide beginners to becoming enthusiasts - that’s what I’m attempting to do. Thanks!

That’s not what they are saying at all. The point is if you want to run non Mega G cars than you will benefit from this $40 power supply
