Watching the same episodes from multiple perspectives is wild. I watched Mumbo's first and was so caught up in his task that I nearly forgot other people have tasks too. This entire plot was on screen just once or twice and it was just "what the frick is going on with Scar over there okay bye i guess" and then it turns out it's even more dramatic and eventful than what I was watching to begin with. This series is awesome

Fr I went from Mumbo’s perspective to this and cannot believe the drama I didn’t see before

Honestly I think Scar did a great job for a task as tricky as that. With so many people all talking at once in certain spots it's hard to keep track of exactly who has said what and for how long the 'opposite" effect is in play. The task was fairly vague.

The increasing number of voices telling Scar to take his helmet off was so beautiful. It was like in a movie, where the evil VILLAIN is banished from the village, and people are throwing rocks and yelling.

I am so glad that no one came up to Scar while he was drowning, because if they got scared and told him to get out, he'd have to drown. This was both the best and worst task ever. I was on edge the whole episode (and poor Scar losing all his friends).

The amount of emotional pain I felt watching scar be forced to kill all the cows…. We’re only 8 minutes into the episode, I love Scar so much

Scar didnt fail when he was told to stand still this is because he said to “stand still for a *minute* ” he moved before the minute was over

I think on it's own, the task is quite doable, the problem is that scar did a lot to make it way harder on himself. Like, there was nothing in his task telling him to say the opposite of what he means, yet he did that anyways, which caused grian to sus out that scar's task had something to do with opposites, and Martin was literally spying on them the moment Grian sussed it out. Also, scar putting on his helmet caused a lot of eyes to be drawn towards himself. It seemed really hard because scar ended up digging himself in a hole.

It's not as bad as the one Gem got honestly. She wasn't allowed to say anything truthful to anyone for the entire session. She made the smart move and gave up after 10 minutes. I don't think anyone could have pulled that one off without making a tiny mistake somewhere along the line.

@@ghastlygale The only way to get a curse of binding item off is to either die or have the item break from losing its durability. To damage the item the player would also have to take damage. There is no way to remove the helmet without taking some amount of damage.

I dunno, 5 times seems like a very low number. I don't think scar's task was exceedingly hard on it's own. Scar just really messed up with his helmet and by also saying the opposite of what he means (the latter was not part of the task). It caused a lot of eyes to be drawn towards him. Maybe something like "for 1 hour, do the opposite of what people tell you to do" It's still an extended period of time, but no longer requires an entire session of dedication.

Oh, I would've cried if I had to be in Scar's position. I definitely think this is one of the most interesting episodes in this entire series I've ever watched, but it does break my heart. And to have to fail after everything because you basically got checkmated, not to mention the threat of being hall-monitored by viewers. SMPs like this seem fun, but it must be really stressful to have to play that extra layer of mind games. It sucks that some tasks leave so much gray area and "what if"s. I think this episode was really great despite having to fail at the end. Well done Scar!

Yeah, the threat of hall monitor viewers is real. Even now there are commenters pointing out every single time he failed the task as though he falsely claimed victory by the end. Calling him out doesn't matter because he made the right decision in picking the fail button during the session.

I mean he did just clearly fail, whether there are 'hall-monitor viewers" or not. It's not like he failed on a small technicality that was only noticeable on rewatching the footage a bunch. Just as an example, if last episode Bdubs hadn't put the words he needed to say up on screen, and people had gone through his video to track down if he said all the words. I'd call _that_ out as hall-monitor viewers. But this fail was blatant.

Scar had his footage checked by Grian to make absolutely sure whether he failed or succeeded because sometimes that stuff slips you by as you're doing things. Especially given how chaotic these sessions actually are, it's not difficult to see why someone would miss something. But the thing is - Scar failed and he accepted that he did. Yet, people are still commenting all the times he messed up his task, even though that's not necessary because Scar already knows this.

@stan8479 Scar in the video literally said at multiple points that he wasn't sure whether or not he'd failed. People are just answering that question. That's the point of the comments, interacting with the video. Hall monitor viewers are an issue when they're nitpicking minor details and technicalities by pausing and going back in the videos to find fails. My point wad when the fail is as obvious as this and the creator asks "did I fail?" it's not hall monitoring to comment "yeah you did".

Scar buddy all you would’ve had to do was to turn to him and go “huh? What?” And then change the subject. You almost had it. I woulda counted that as succeeding personally. I respect you playing it safe though.

He has only gone under 20 hearts once and he only made it down to about 18.5 hearts before he gained 10 more and basically went back up to full

Scar singing with Grian gives me the great old days nostalgia of 3rd Life and Double Life. Grian and Scar are such a fun DUO to watch! I hope they team up later, such great vibes and synergy! A mark of true friends.

For Scar to go through all that and still fail the task, toughing it out the whole time- what a legend!! 😭

I super appreciate that Scar's opposite actions are truly in the spirit of the task and not just literal lawyer loophole escapes to make things more palatable. "Please give me a heart turning into two whacks from a stick"... your game play is amazing sir (not a villain).

The gathering at the end of the video was so wholesome, finally getting to tell people you were sorry and right some wrongs must have felt amazing.

I like how during chase scenes it feels like Scar is actually running irl, because of how winded he sounds

Gotta watch scars perspective first, protagonist energy. Task idea: Convince someone that you are allies, then ghost them for 30 minutes and go back as if nothing happened, don't get called out!

The entire server chasing Scar is like an angry mob going after a criminal

I think a part of this task, which is confusing when you read it,is what people TELL scar to do, and then people ask questions. so if they ask scar a question,like when grian asked him "what are you doing in my house?",he could've responded honestly.but when some tells him to do something,such as "take off the helmet",thats when he does the opposite.

Your apologies at the end were incredible, you really had everyone enraptured listening.

That was a really hard task, sucks that Martyn managed to figure it out. On the bright side, this was the funniest life series episode I've ever seen, you had me in tears!
