Etho reminds me of an old sensei character in the Life series (very appropriate to his skin lol), he used to be an absolute beast and a PVP legend back in the day with UHC, but now he's mostly hung up his weapons and just kind of chills with everybody.

1:37 Ohhh I love Grian swooping over Pearl's body as a ghost, it's wonderfully subtle and indicates Grian's in-chat message to Scar so perfectly

oh my god, scar playing it off as an accident THE FUCKING SMIRK. he’s the opitome of a glorious-bastard villain and i love him for that. i hope he gets to have a better friend/ ally network next season. his commitment to not betraying pearl was so sweet, he finally got the friendship he was looking for all season and was going to see it through to the end, even if it could have got him killed 💜

His villain status and kill of Tango is even better when you considder the deal he had made with Tango earlier; gifting him a heart under the condition Tango would kill Skizz; with Tango first saying he'd rather die, then lying and pretending to accept when Scar altered the deal to simply hurting Skizz, getting the heart. And both of those were fulfilled; Tango accidentally hurt Skizz with the TNT meant for Cleo and ultimately died to Scar - who was responsible for hurting the rest of the Heart Foundation but didn't actually kill either of Tangos teammates. It played out beautifully.

Skizz and Scar’s look exchange at 0:28 is insane! I love your animations so much!

Okay, but the way you drew Skizz's stare (0:29) and Scar's expression when he says "crazy" (0:31) have me wanting a whole movie now! That is just brillant storytelling, I love it sooo much! Honestly, with this animatic and the one you did for "Earth" the last session especially seems so cinematic, a movie with Scar as the protagonist would work so well. Thank you for highlighting and recontextualising these moments so the potential for the really compelling story that lies within becomes apparent, I don't think I would have seen it without your animatics! ❤

But, hear me out: after watching the "Earth"-animatic, I am sold on the idea of an antihero-tragedy-drama with Scar being revealed as the true protagonist at the end as more and more of the "protagonist types" die. Him fully embracing the villany in the last episode was just so satifying to watch from his perspective. Okay that sounds really dramatic now. If anyone wants to make that movie I'll be happy to assist lol

Scar was an absolute menace in this final session, it was insane. I love the stare down at 0:27, just Scar’s smirk. Verbally trying to convince the others, but fully admitting what he down to Skizz. I love the ghosts of all the winners at the end, welcoming Scar to their ranks.

Scar won because he knew exactly how to make and break alliances. He managed to get every faction he interacted with in session 9 to, at least briefly, ally with him and assist him. He allied with the heart foundation (even after pinning them against each other) to attack the mounders, only to betray them, ally with the mounders instead and come out on top. He allied with Gem & the Scotts who helped him kill BigB, Cleo and Etho, only to then (unintentionally) break away and work together with Pearl to take out Gem And when it was only him and Pearl left, he did not hesitate to finish what he started. To win Secret life, he had to break his final alliance too. This was the way of -Traitor- Scar; I mean Trader Scar, and his genuinely impressive victory.

I love how you had Grian’s ghost lead Scar’s vision to Pearl’s body as a way to visualize Grian telling Scar that Pearl died in chat. Very creative and unique

The best aspect within the whole LifeSeries is that each player makes subconscious decisions to naturally balance some things out across the seasons, as these are friends just playing minecraft, its not a tournament or competition.

the change in expression and wording from wounded animal to put him out of his mizzory was halrous and worked so well.

Scar and Skizz making eye contact as they talk about tango's death with everyone else kinda blurred in the background??? IS SO EPIC. NOT TO MENTION HIS SMIRK AS HE SAYS "let's put him out of his misery" about Etho, and Gem and Scott's expressions as Scott sacrifices himself i just GAHHH I could go on but this was freaking EPIC MAN AWESOME JOB AS ALWAYS :D

Scott sacrificing himself to gem always hits hard but at 1:07 the expression you gave gem is soo good i teared up a bit and could feel her anguish 😭 amazing work like always

I absolutely ADORE how you portray Skizz glaring at Scar knowing full well what he did, or at the very least knowing that Tango's death was no accident-- so so so good!

Scar's face when he looks at Skizz after killing Tango, wow. Skizz's face looking back, also wow. That was just, holy crud. So much emotion in two expressions. Gem's expression and her little sound of exclamation wow. Pearl's look when she grab's Scar's arm vs the set of his shoulders when he refuses to kill her. All of these have been amazing, but this is so fantastic. Just impeccable.

I immediately had to pause and rewatch the shot of ghost Pearl turning away from Scar. Such a nice little detail.

Man, it really was dramatic! Good job on this. Definitely feel some tears coming on just from the Gem and Scott section, it hits a lot harder than in minecraft somehow.

SCAR IN SECRET LIFE WAS A LEGEND. I also like how he pushed tango off like a cat XD.

Love the way you did the melancholy tone with the ghosts at the end, they're so silent but so loud at the same time

I was just watching your animations when you posted! And it looks fantastic! I love how much emotions is there during Scott's death, and Skizz and Scar's expression after Tango was killed were just golden ❤️

The storylines that form naturally in unscripted series like this will always trump the scripted series! Unwilling Villain Scar is SO good!

Ah yes, the final Secret Life in a nutshell animation, and of course it was a-may-zing! I will never stop being in awe of the way you convey emotions and expressions! You capture Scar's ability to drastically shift between moods so so well! He actually looks so concerned or nonchalant one second but then you hear and see that smirk before his entire demeanor flips! Really enjoyed how you cut to the lightning when Gem swung at Scott too. The frame with her holding the sword with tears in her eyes really emphasized how difficult that choice was for her. Love the detail of Scar having his back turned to Pearl when he refuses her offer because he wouldn't even entertain the idea. All the ghostly figures were so cool and such a fun way to communicate what happened at the end of the series! Thank you for creating these fun animations and sharing them with us! And I'm glad you took that well deserved break!

You did his kill on Tango so much justice, it’s such a silly moment but to me it feels like the epitome of the strategy that wins him the season- he doesn’t hesitate to take up any opportunities or openings except for the ones that hurt his closest allies. Normally that gamble is the death of him but in secret life it gave him more and more health carrying him to the finale. So good!

the thing is, scott won last life and so he probably doesnt feel its fun for him to win again, same with pearl for double life, these sacrifices were made to keep the story more interesting i'd presume

This seasons finale was insane Scar winning was the most unexpected thing and his shock made it all the more entertaining

Its ironic that Secret Life started with getting Scar to talk about Star Wars and failing a task by reading it off, and ended as he turned to the dark side and won the series

I love how we've seen chaos scar before but villain scar is better because he is calculated and deceitful instead of just unhinged.

The final episode is such an emotional whiplash compared to the others. Throughout the season everything has been laughs and shenanigans, and then it just suddenly turns to "You must kill me my friend, lest the enemy gain the advantage." Great video as always Rusty! Thank you for taking the time to bring extra Life to the series!

Question for Rusty (sorry I answered my own question cause I forgot), first I love your animatics it was pure joy to see your video each week and I thank you for that Back to the question we have established that Grian represents the sun, Pearl the moon, Scott the stars and Martin the sea and I love that symbolism but what’s Scar? I haven’t found any videos that gave him some symbolism and me and my sister have been talking about what he could like Earth being a parallel with grian and being as chaotic and duality of the world. Plants with the amount of flowers he had on his skin this season (and again a flower and the sun is cute can you tell I how much I love parallels and storytelling) then maybe fire because scar has always been destructive yet bright and warm to be around. Of course there’s other ideas but theses are the ones we have been talking about and I would love to hear yours thoughts Rusty and anyone else’s this is just something that hasn’t left my brain Edit: oh my goodness how did I forget you made the earth video I guess i have my answer sorry I forgot, man I love the idea for him being the earth I bet you helped with that, I swear I love that video though I not going to delete this comment I think a discussion nonetheless would be fun or even just point out cool moments from scar
