Thank you for your honest and kindly worded video. There is no bigger fan of SR & Bach than me. (Sorry everyone... it's true!) 😆. I have sang professionally for over 2 decades, so I know what it takes. Here's the nutshell: 1. Age IS a factor 2. NOBODY will ever be able to replicate Bas' emotion and conviction. There's a difference between "conviction" and "hitting the notes". 3. Eric is great! I had a chance to hang out with him 2 months back, and he's a sweetheart of a guy. He has nothing but love and respect for Bach. 4. Without Sebastian singing on those first 4 albums, SR would have probably never made it to the big time, and we, as fans, would have nothing. 5. Without Rachel and Snake writing the majority of the songs back in the day, Bas may not have had a chance to male it big.

Shall we take consideration for age here. Let’s be fair. Bach is 55 Erik is 36. Let’s also consider that Bach has toured extensively for over 35 years. If anything, bring up videos of Sebastian at age 36 and evaluate fairly!

it would be unfair to compare 50+ years old BACH with 30+ y/o Eric, so to compare Bach then and Eric now- BACH wins (great voice+great hair+80's magic?), however now...Sebastian in live performance sounds out of breath and it is a little bit painful to listen to but his new song is dope, Eric seems like a perfect fit for 2023 Skid Row, but would he be remembered after 30 years as a rock legend like Bach is? Bach has been a bit rough touring last summer. He's been better in his latest gigs though and lost some weight. We'll see what 2024 brings.

The only way to compared them is when. Bach has 30 +some and Erik 30 before the narrow bone transplant. I you Americans bother in doing a little research of what he was in Europe... there will be no comparation. Erik is better singer , had more energy and of course he is a gentleman with his former band ,they are FRIENDS , he's not a bigmouth or a clown to talk shit about someone he didn't bother to know who he is. Your opinion and description on this matter is spot on. You are so very right in that in order to get a fair assessment these singers needs to be compared at roughly the same age. A young Sebastian is hands down the better frontman in terms of the whole package. In terms of the voice they come pretty close, but I see the young version of Sebastian as slightly better with hiting high notes. At this point in time Erik would probably be doing a better job, but I still would prefer a Skid Row reunion with Sebastian as long as Sebastian sounds better then Vince Neil. 🤣

Erik is an AMAZING singer. And I enjoyed watching him from Swedish Idol and all his unbelievable covers with his talented session/studio musicians. It's clear Sebastian's influence on him, and yet Erik's covers also prove he can sing *ANYTHING*. He is also nearly 20 years younger than Sea Bass. Erik's journey to Skid Row frontman reminds me of the movie Rock Star with Mark Wahlberg (believe based on the Judas Priest replacement singer's story?). All of that said, anyone looking at Baz either when he first made those songs famous, or even from when he was in his mid to late 30s (Broadway footage, Gilmore Girls, all the VH1 shows he did, Forever Wild, Super Group, I Married....) must give the man his due. There is no other man put on this earth more destined to be a star than Sebastian. Then. Now. And forever.

I love them both but i think it's unfair to compare in this way. when the Audi R8 cane out, it was a supercar, 15 years later, it's slower than some family hatchbacks. I think it would have been more fair to compare prime with prime. However, we all win because Skid Row are back. I saw them last year. Best night of my life I think.

For the comparison to be ethical and correct, both should be the same age, singing the same song. I did it. They are both 22 years old performing "I remember you" and I can say this: Eric is a good singer and a cool guy, but Sebastian is brilliant and unique. Sebastian's voice is 5 octaves and he commands it to perfection. There is passion in him! Unique vibrato. Stage behavior and presence, contact and attitude with the audience. Add in the good looks and we have a perfect formula for a ROCK STAR.

Bach has been touring and singing his ass off for the entirety of Erik’s lifetime. Think about that… Also, its important to note that we wouldn’t be talking about Skid Row in 2024 if it weren’t for Sebastian in the first place.

Bach just changed some of the high notes he wasn’t struggling the one who was struggling is Erik. Look at his neck tension and it reveals it all

As he runs and sometimes sprints across the huge stages, Sebastian manages to sing absolutely right. I wonder how he has air and strength! Some live performances are better than studio recordings. But that's what happens when you sing with all your heart. Not for money, but for the love of music. Respect! Check out the 1991 Wembley concert. Sorry man, but this is a real rock star. In the full sense of this expression. Unfortunately, Eric at the same age and singing some of the same songs standing still can't even come close to Sebastian's vocal capacity. Documented facts.

I never picked sides when Sebastian and Skid Row parted ways. But I am definitely Team Erik when it comes to fronting Skid Row. I have seen both of them live in the past week. Bas has obviously been working on his vocals, but I am very happy with Erik leading Skid Row and don't want to see anyone else as Skid Row's lead singer. This is Erik's time and he also puts out incredible covers on his KZread channel.

Different time, and now a completely different band. The time when skid row hit the scene will never be replicated. My generation and the generation before me were spoilt with great bands, and great music. A time long gone.

Look at artists like Phil Lewis from La Guns Matijevic from Steelheart or Carine Pinto from Manigance age plays a part sure but so does diet exercise and maintaining your voice with practice it doesnt have to be this way i love seb but thers things that could be done to improve and it isnt doing it his fans want allways comment that hes better than erik in my comments but now that ive shown the comparisons its not fair 🤷🏼‍♂️

Erik does a good job but he’s no Sebastian. Sebastian has heart he lives and breaths rock n roll that will never change. Erik Gronwall is a worthy Successor to Bach and to Skid Row, but Skid Row isn't Skid Row without Bach.

Martial arts has nothing to do with being a good singer, vocalist or frontman. Seb had much better material to work with. The Gang is all Here is mediocre, with a modern over-compressed digital production. It won't age well and it sounds awful on vinyl. The first two Skid Row records are the heart and soul of the band. And Seb was a ln integral part of that, with his arrangements, harmonies, lyrical compostiion and performance. This new person is just a journeyman who has joined an ageing legacy band.

I would strongly disagree martial arts is a discipline that keeps you fit and healthy both in body and mind being fit and healthy means more energy to run around on the stage and having the breath hit those insane highs and the mental discipline to know when to talk shit and when not to further more that discipline is admirable it shows an audience that he isnt just some lumbering buffoon but a guy that you can beilive in a guy that will to the best of his ability carry the torch as far as he can take it

gangs all here is pretty decent but you're right that it won't age well. if it came out in the 80s or 90s, it'd be lost in a pile of generic, flavor of the day ratt, whitesnake, sven gali and slik toxic albums. nevermind the modern production, the songs on it just don't stand out. bach put out 1 track recently and its catchier/beefier than anything on the gangs all here album, as if its a missing track from the slave to the grind era.

Sebastian is way older than Erik its not a fair comparison and comes across as cherry picking, Bach is 55 and has declined from age (with Bach being a high tenor and his reckless life style his voice has declined faster than most.. high tenors tend to burn bright and fast, Robert Plant and Midnight (Crimson Glory) are other examples) you should compare both Erik and Bach when at the same age and at the same point in their career. Bach in the early 2000s is still a far better singer than Erik, you are comparing singing technique and the voice, not how they sing right now. Matijevic from Steelheart is a low Tenor and has worked hard on his voice and after taking a break worked hard to get it back to strength, he also does not have the mileage on his voice that bach has because bach never stopped touring or working. another example of this is Michael kiske, for a long time he quit doing tours and took a break, doing only did session work and some albums. only when he rejoined helloween is he doing heavy touring and more using his voice, and he sounds great! you can tell he does not have the mileage on his voice and he was smart to do that. so if you are gonna compare erik and bach one for one, do it by comparing them at the same age and the same point in their career.

You are comparing a guy with someone half his age, that is not fair. Compare them with Bach in his prime and I think things will be very different than what you present here. As a long time Skid Row fan, Erik is the only singer that has brought me back to Skid Row; the dude is legit and brings it to the band. But I'd still rather see them with Bach, just because...it seems right. But I'll be good with Erik; he is better these days than Bach is these days.

Which that already proves even after a decade that his voice wasn’t at his best he could get it back via a better lifestyle, So I agree with what you say

Of course the man has he’s led an absolutely crazy rock and roll life. It’s amazing singers from that era are still alive tbh. He entertained millions touring to massive crowds of crazy fans. The fact he can still sing at all is a testament to how strong his voice is. He’s a living legend

His last year's gigs were pretty bad, its true. The recent stuff is much better. I dunno what he did to himself in a year but he did shed the gut a bit and his voice is better. Check Eddie Trunk's recent 40th anniversary gig, Bach kills Sweet Little Sister and Monkey Business there. Much better than those summer gigs
