(I know my reply is 2 years late) Unfortunately yes. My sister is currently pregnant with her 5th child, she smoked through all her pregnancy’s and she is smoking through this one, and whenever anybody mentions how bad it is that she’s smoking during her pregnancy because of all the bad effects it can have on the baby, she usually responds with “Well, people who don’t smoke can have babies with health problems too” and it’s like, yeah, but a lot of those people are usually around other people that Do smoke, and they are breathing in Second hand Smoke, and so the babies health problems were still caused by smoking, albeit indirectly. Her doctor has tried to talk to her about it too, but she usually just responds with “Not everything is caused by cigarettes” or “People who don’t smoke can have problems too” “I know people who never smoked and their babies had health issues” “Other things cause cancer too” 😐😑
