Thanks for another comprehensive review. Like the way your test drive covered the cobbled streets of Liverpool and surrounding countryside👍. The supermini segment has never been more competitive with arrival of the new Ibiza, Fiesta, Micra and Rio. The Ibiza certainly does impress against the opposition.

John McNeely I know, sorry about that. Problem with press car launches, limited time and when your driver gets lost in Liverpool for half an hour when you're waiting to film him drive past. That time loss did for any countryside filming I'm afraid. Better than looking at me ramble on though.

Completely agree. The old Ibiza and Micra were not really contenders to be honest. But the new ones are. So they are both going to get a slice of the market, and it will need to come from other manufacturers.

Always love your car reviews. Weirdly looking at this and a CX5 Mazda. We don't do a lot miles and the wife mainly uses the car for the school run and weekly shop. So thinking of saving the cash on one of these.

Top man and thanks very much. If you're after a supermini then it's the best out there right now. Lots of fun to drive and looks great. Should tick the box nicely for the school run and shopping. The CX5 is a lovely SUV. It's hard to say that it's not worth spending the extra on the CX-5 as they are totally different vehicles. How about a SEAT Ateca as a mid-way compromise?kzread.info/dash/bejne/fa1k26OmmajThs4.html

I've had one for 2 weeks I love it only I can sometimes feel the clutch vibrate a bit, apparently that's normal

Another good review, liked the Leon when you reviewed it but with this being good to drive as well and looking as good will take a look at the Ibiza instead, thought the longer wheel base would make for a more comfortable ride on the Leon but do not need the space in the rear or the big boot and fun factor always a good thing to have.

Thank you. Good of you to say. The Leon is more comfortable but the Ibiza has grown a lot making it a rather spacious supermini. So you are probably better off saving your money if you don't need the additional space that the Leon offers.

Damn this looks great, even from the side. The front is always strong but the sides not so much, in my opinion as guy that doesnt know much about cars.

Your camera must have a really low bitrate, 1080p looks blotchy and not clear.

i think the new ibiza is the king in the super mini class!great review ,synoptic and clear!well done...

It does come with LED headlight bulbs the set you see on the car are just a different shape

The Polo GTI also makes the slumberous, and highly expensive (when you buy it first, then when you have to repair/replace it after some 70-100k miles) DSG mandatory, which the Ibiza doesn't, except in its 1.5L version.@@acbedmbedc862

Why no 3 door produced ? I prefer 3 door, so Ibiza is a no no. Pity, as it looks great, especially in the red. I guess it's another Fiesta for me.

Not being funny moggs, but how are three door models better than five door models? As you get on in life, it's a lot easier to get into the back of a five door, rather than having to clamber into a three door model.

They have fixed the issue for us who likes 3-door variants better. No more 3-doors from any make, on any model. Lol.

The FR version has the 115 BHP engine not the 95 BHP as you state. Basic details that let down an otherwise good review.
