How do you get the spool valve out? The valve at the bottom that was stuck that wasn't letting your motor turn. I have the same issue and have my unit broke down thanks to your videos.

Jeromy Nolan , there are 2 calibrated orifices, resembling washers with orings. those have to come out first. the I used a deep socket on an extention to drive it out with a brass hammer. NOTE pay attention to the outside diameter of the socket you need to be smaller then the valve bore or you will mess up the bore. hope this helps.

I understand the socket theory. I actually used one and tapped on them thinking I could drive it through the other side. Apparently I've got them wedged in there pretty good now...

I have a punch that has a hole in it the size of the dimple on the valve I had to grind and sand to make it fit the orifice and was able to move it just enough to dislodge the orifice on the opposite side and repeated the other way with the socket set up. You will have to come up with some ingenuity when doing this stuff, my shop is full of machines to help me create what I need to do the job. I also have some friends who are better machinists' then I and I can usually get the answers I need. Keep in mind I have been fixing commercial aircraft for 30 years, and I fixed heavy equipment before that so I have a good background on fixing things.

Friend l have problems with 7 pistons, they are completely blocked inside. I must drill it on the head and pull to came out its, then l need a new pistons parts. Where l may find them please… l m in Italy Thanks friend

When i did this 4 years ago the only thing avilable was the seal kit on ebay. i was never able to find springs and pistons or valves. telfex was very protective of the hard parts. I would search Ebay.

Okay NOT GOOD!!!!! internal parts cannot be purchased by individuals, the reason why he is cleaning all these parts like this. All the sanding and grinding not a good idea! Seal kits can be bought but not the internal parts. Pier 21 Marine Located in Louisiana is a Authorized Seastar Hydraulic Service Center which repairs cylinders and helms with a WARRANTY 2yrs. I strongly advise on checking them out!
