Seashore Trolley Museum 75th Anniversary Trolley Parade
Ғылым және технология
On July 5, 2014 the Seashore Trolley Museum celebrated it's 75th anniversary with a huge parade of trolleys. The star attraction is the reintroduction of the newly restored car #2, the Golden Chariot from Montreal!
Note that we were not able to capture video of the entire parade, however we do have the audio of the whole thing, so where the video is missing, you will see still images of the cars being discussed.

I miss the elderly motorman Lyman Hurter --- he was my favorite employee there back in the early '90's (at my request, he autographed the back of a photo I had of him in my picture-book --- ahhh, memories!). He'd also been one of the first employees at the museum --- he'd started working there in 1940, just a year after it was founded. :D
1:34:20 Ahhhh... the Golden Chariot --- one of my all-time favorites!! One thing I always especially liked about this roofless car is that you can watch --- and listen --- as the trolley-pole "sings" along on the overhead wire just a few yards above you, and then also hear the crisp guitar-like twang of the released-and-then-quickly-re-contacted wire as the pole passes underneath each of the towers that support the wire. You literally have to be there and experience it for yourself to know how amazing and special it is. :D
I'm from Connecticut and it's good to see Connecticut cars up in Maine, other than just at the Shoreline Trolley Museum in East Haven CT.
I rode a SOAC in the 70's Love the Seacoast Trolley Museum!
Will be visiting the museum on Sept. 3rd. Looking forward to it, being from Montreal, I hope I'll get a good look at the Montreal Tramways streetcars and Montreal & Southern Counties cars too. Looking forward to seeing the old buses, trolley buses and subway cars too.

Thanks for posting --- very pleasant and interesting! :) :)
I wish I could've traveled a few towns away to see this.
The narrator is fantastic. If anyone's interested, look for the video of the 'Electric 50' tram parade at Crich tram museum in The UK, which is where I'm from.
w tym filmie są pokazane starodawne Tramwaje Elektryczne z USA niektóre z nich z serli PCC Trolley to żbliżone konstrukcyjnie wagony do Czeskiej Tatry T3 i Konstala 13n z Warszawy
At 2057 we loose video when the PCC car is shown, this needs to be redone.
How's Philadelphia & West Chester # 62 holding up?

I can't answer for what happened, but I have a similar video up, and I do have the petibone on that.

That section didn't record video (long story). I replaced the parts with no video with still images of the various cars - however some of those also didn't upload for some reason... I'm in the process of exporting a new version which will have the photos of the missing pieces...
