Love these videos wish I could go back in time and do stuff like this. One thing I've learned fishing the canal is to always bring a spare rod. Especially walking that far from the truck.

I lost a striper due to line being too light. I threw a dropshot near a pocket with brush and grass near the shore. I used a mullet soft plastic with trophy bass procure. She hit lure hard, pulling her out from near grass and brush sadly, the line broke after fighting this nice striper for 10 minutes. I put heavier line on, so next time, opportunity hits I won't lose the striper. 😢

@alexandercolon8111 i usually take my father to Keansburg fishing pier in Nj, Sandy hook is good but too much walking for my dad and the pier is convenient they sell bait and have cutting stations for bait, right now you'll catch flounder but stripers and blues are up north, i would wait til Fall when temps drop, i caught my pb this past April a 38 inch striper at the pier

@@thomasgallo7271 actually yes! That same trip I landed a 30” stripper on my second cast into two feet of surf. They’re pushing bait fish right in front of me.. we also rented a 16’ boat and fished through the lighthouse area, local fishermen can be territorial.

Sir wow that guy proves that this world is full of fisherman who are pieces of shit and others like him who could not be more generous I have never in my life heard of someone lending another fisherman a rod wow what a great guy by the way how the heck did you break the tip and here is a heads up for the times when i have broken the tip what you do is slice off those few inches that remain and thereby making the next guide equivalent to a top got it?
