Searching For Hidden Abandoned Ruins

Ойын-сауық

In this video we head out on an adventure to see if we can discover some Abandoned ruins & remains along a section of railroad tracks. I discovered this location on a website that I stumbled upon during research. So come along with me to see what we find while enjoying the day out in nature. Enjoy

When I could get around I was always outside. I grew up in a house on the river. I really miss it. I miss walking in the woods and hearing the sounds of nature. I loved everything about this video, and I love how you always make me feel like I am actually there with you and that you are talking to me as a friend. I love your videos and thank you for all your hard work. NONE of your videos are failures!

How can anyone find you and your videos boring, we enjoy watching every single one of your videos. Life is about the journey, the journey is just as, if not more important than the destination, the people who don't see that about the journey, miss out on so much. Your videos are always entertaining. My brother and I would never miss an adventure, we take many roads and non roads in a 2wd that many won't take with a 4wd, if we didn't take those roads, although a little rough and overgrown to a point we might gain a few scratches on the car along the way, we would miss out on the adventure and whatever lies at the end of the track. We take the track every time, unless it's really bad, big ruts and very boggy or deep sand, in which case we walk it.

I really enjoyed this video. Being from just north of here, I find the old railroad and coal mining ruins fascinating. I went on Google Earth and found the area you were exploring. It's amazing that what looks so remote is nestled in a heavily developed area. The landscape also looks much different in the winter than the summer images on Google Earth. I could not find the 1893 structure in the woods. The pipe supports were a great find, too. Good work. Keep these coming!

I live in Montana and we have mountains, creeks and streams; some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. In the early fall it's not uncommon to see herds of deer and antelope grazing in fields. The places you go? They are beyond interesting and educational and just plain fun! I love watching your videos...it makes me feel like I'm there too. Thanks again for all you do and just keep on doing what you and keep being safe 🙏😊 I can't wait to see more videos 😊

jp, my favorite part was the old pump house, the dam, and the old railroad track signals. Enjoyed it very much, thank you! I also did like the music too. Yes, please make some more videos like this one, it was interesting. I did some research on an old mill that we have here in Tennessee & I found out that a local mill wright had some irish stone masons brought over from Ireland. They built the dam here in my town & the foundation for the mill. They said that after the work was done, they moved on to other states plying their trade. To me, that is interesting, it takes a skilled laborer to make a stone wall that will last. Chances are the stone walls you found were made by experienced stone masons. (I guess this was back before the illegal alien problem....lol, in the 1800's)

A lot of the old mill stones at the grist mills were cut by specialized stonecutters from Europe. It's interesting to see how they cut them with grooves that would move the ground grain out to the edges of the stones as it was milled. There are several of these on display at Fall Creek Falls in Tennessee.

@@markvick3984 Mark, thanks for the info! Yes, I have been to several mills in Tennessee, I have a special interest because my grandfather worked at one & I have a picture of him in his mill w/all the workers there, I think it's from the 1920's. It was a lumber mill in north Carolina. (I think I have been to fall creek falls, just can't remember right now)

I love your videos. I have similar interest in exploring the environment and finding out the story behind abandoned features. I really enjoyed your exploration of the river crossings

I love anything outside! It’s too snowy and cold here (for me) to be outside today so your video is the next best thing.

Hi Jason .. at least you are trying and i love that you include all your followers .. its real nice of you. Be careful of the tracks sweetheart .. Wow you have warm weather there at the end of January. Over here in England all we get is rain and its getting worse nowadays. I agree i think those stones have been placed there but i don't know what it was. You get to go to some beautiful places J .. I love this its like going with you on an adventure yay. Yes the blue sky is beautiful and its great that you have warm weather there. I hope an ATV doesn't come your way with all those puddles. Once we had bad rain and i worked at a primary school at the time and a car came round the corner real fast and didn't slow down and it hit the giant puddle which was on the side of the road and they splashed me i was wet through from top to bottom and i was at work all day trying to dry off lol. Wow i wonder what those supports were for in the stream? All way through the video im saying in my mind please be careful J .. Ha ha yep a child's bike so its officially abandoned lol. Great awesome video J .. always love them and my fave part was to see that hut and the structures in the water holding the pipes x

When I think about all the effort it took to build those massive hand-stacked stone walls, it staggers my mind.

That is a day like we get in Georgia in the winter. One day low 30s next day the 60s. The old saying goes "if you don't like the weather, wait 24 hours" That could be one of many places here in the south. Congrats on a beautiful January day for you and your hike. ❤❤❤

I really appreciate your videos JP. I live in the uk and watching your videos makes me feel like I’m on a adventure. Those concrete trestles in the river look like ones used on many bridges. I wander if there was one to get to the other side back in the day. Would love to see it in the spring. Love the sound of the water.🙏
