Seachem Prime® - the most concentrated water conditioner on the market!
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Nearly all pet aquatics companies manufacture a product that removes chlorine. None of those, however, can compare in quality, concentration, or effectiveness to Seachem’s flagship product: Prime®. Prime® is the complete and concentrated conditioner for both fresh and saltwater. Prime® removes chlorine, chloramine and detoxifies ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. It is non-acidic and will not impact pH. A further bonus for the reef hobbyist-Prime® will not over-activate skimmers.

This is one of the best products I used by far
I think it would be great to make a video of how it works.
This was the most helpful video in prime

@@seachemis their one for salt water?
My biggest knock against Seachem when it comes to Prime is the lack of clarity right up front with respect to neutralizing ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. No one should have to engage in a research exercise in order to learn that it only neutralizes them for 24-48 hours. Come on Seachem, state this right up front every time you state it "detoxifies ammonia, nitrite and nitrate." It's a great product, there's absolutely no need to bury this limitation.

I use easylife aquamaker. It works faster than prime and it has specs more than prime. But i would recommend prime since it is popular aquamaker is underrated and no one uses it :( prime is 5x dosage for high concentrations of chlorine ammonia chloramine nitrites and nitrates (2mg/L or higher) while aquamaker is 3x dosage for high concentrations of chlorine ammonia chloramine nitrites and nitrates (6mg/L or higher) aquamaker is an award winning competitor. Aquamaker detoxifies ammonia nitrite and nitrate for 7 days

Don’t forget prime detoxifies the ammonia to a state not harmful to your fish but still can be used by the bacteria in your tank. So really, your bacteria should remove the ammonia once it catches up.
Thanks for this, I've been using Prime for over a decade. Plus Flourish excel, etc... but was only now thinking - can I use this for houseplants, or is there any kind of residue leftover? I suppose I can answer this myself; my aquariums are full of plants & fish, & I usually give water change water to my houseplants... haha. Certain plants (ideally) can only handle distilled, spring, or reverse osmosis water. Brita or bottled water is an easy alternative, though not optimal. I'm mostly referring to the following: 1. prayer plants (maranta/calathea/ctenanthe). 2. ginger plants (alpinia sp.) 3. dracaena/sansevieria (snake plant). 4. air plants (tillandsia) - maybe all bromeliads could benefit from dechlorinated h2o. 5. orchids (some can handle tap, mainly epi's/cymbidiums/phael's). 6. ALL carnivorous plants. 7. Rex begonias. 8. Pilea sp. 9. Pepperomia sp. (maybe) These plants all notoriously get burnt-looking leaf tips + brown edges, as they have a difficult time diffusing excess fluoride, chlorine, etc. Some have delicate root systems that chlorine is just not healthy for. Thanks!!

Although this is not the intended application, Prime will instantly dechlorinate water. Prime itself is only active in the water for up to 48 hours so if you have any hesitation I would recommend preparing your water 48 hours in advance before using it for house plants. Or even using aquarium water post water change! We should mention as a side note that Prime, or any Seachem product for that matter, is not FDA approved so we can't recommend any of our products for things intended for human consumption such as vegetables, fruits, etc. Just in case :)
Ive been using Prime for a long time and it works amazingly well. Never has my pond water been tested to have any trace of chlorine. What really bothers me and I continue to question it, is that the 250ml bottle I have has a much much stronger chemical odor than the big 2 Liter jug I purchased on Amazon. I feel like the larger jug is diluted. Is that true? If we’re paying a lot more for the 2L jug, why would it be diluted in concentration over the smaller bottles? But with that said, the larger bottle still seems to work the same. Or…..has the chemical stench of Seachem just gotten better over the years and I didnt know it?
Cai I use prime for boring water?
is it safe for corals and invertebrates?
Now if only the ads weren’t longer than your videos. That would be great.
does seachem safe work just as fast?
Can we use seachem prime in the ATO container?
Has it vitamin C? Acid ascorbic.
I understand that it detoxifies Ammonia Nitrate and Nitrate but will still show high levels using water testing... is that correct?

Key word is detoxify. It doesn't remove. It's still there but just makes it safe for the fish till your filter can get rid of it or if you do a water change.
how long would I have to wait too add my fish after using prime?

is AmGuard more effective at dealing with ammonia?
@seachem
2 жыл бұрын
AmGuard detoxifies ammonia for 72 hours and Prime detoxifies ammonia for 48 hours. However, the standard dose of each detoxifies different amounts. Please email us at support@seachem.com if you need more assistance picking the correct product for your aquarium needs!
