Inspired by the story of Alan Kurdi, the three-year-old Syrian refugee who drowned in the Mediterranean Sea, Khaled Hosseini, the novelist and Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has written an exclusive story brought to life in virtual reality. The night before a potentially fatal journey, a father reflects with his son on their life in Syria before the war - and on their unknown future

The narrator has one of the most soulful voices I've ever heard.

As a father, can't help but cry watching this. Khaled's stories has always been powerful and let's us see the pain from the perspective of these people that are suffering.
Godspeed to the poor souls that must undertake this journey. Shame on the regimes that condemm these people to such cruel existence.
What an incredibly powerful video. May Allah ease the hardships of all those in suffering at sea and on land around the world. Ameen
What kind of a person gives this a thumbs down 😔? Beautifully done.

I can't breathe. All of my prays, our prays, for you. Prays from Turkey. I'm so sad, Aylan...
I cried such tears. Feel so helpless to change this world. I'm so sorry.
this is amazing . when i heard it my eyes filled with tears ... i am helpless to change this world ,but i am sure one that will happen ,the great change . that make a wonderful ,peaceful world
very powerful narrative and supported artistry. i realized by the end it was people fleeing everything they ever knew, and the hope for a new future... all the emotions were brilliantly expressed.
my favorite author!
Amazing, my goodness,I can't think of it,its ultimate description of the reality
The story is amazing and the video is beyond cool !!!
Now is 39 deaths in Essex. Goddess, Khaled Hosseini, I really want your book. Thank you for telling the cruelty we are having. Peace for all.
similarly related story of Danny Aldehneh, "Haven" made for the web browser in 2016 - glad to see more of this kind of story-telling!
Great sound and narration!
Wow! Awesome.
It's a tragedy, but I pray for change to happen and peace/love be an option over assumptions and hardened hearts. May that Precious Cargo rest in peace.

The current problem: how to help those refugees? (food, clothes...) The essential problem: how to stop the war and return the beatiful home to the refugees?
Need more vr art like this
One of the best 360 content
🥺🥺🥺🥺super with wonderful narration
As amazing as the video is, it really pinches hard that we have developed in various facets of life but only (as it seems) at the cost of humanity, love and compassion... The legend is a blot on the world peace forums in particular and global community in general...
Beautiful
Oh good!
it helps me with my geography homework
Every life is priceless and worth whatever it takes
Aguardo ansiosa a versão portuguesa. Amo seus livros. Esta sem dúvida é mais uma triste história neste mundo.
I shudder to think of this.
does anyone know the LOGOS of this video for rhetoric analysis?

HOLY SSHIT
Interesting 26,215 views as of 3/09/2017. The 'story' of Alan Kurdi. Sad as it was, was exploited by numerous people for their own ends. NGO's, artists, writers, media. The family were safe in Turkey and so 'dangerous and precarious' was their plight that their preventable deaths, two children and a mother, the father was able to return to Kobani to bury them. A place apparently so dangerous they were forced to flee. Not everything is as it looks...BUT the loss of a child in any circumstances is such a sadness....
Interesting how they leave out the part where Marwan grows up to drive a truck through a crowd in Germany...

R. Wagner he never learnt how to drive a truck, stupid. In fact he never even grew up at all. He died in the sea. He was 3 years old and he died in the sea, trying to escape destruction and violence. Hoping for a better life, in peace. I kindly want to ask you, to take back your comment, for it is disrespectful to all those that are risking their lives trying to run away from those mad people that drive trucks into crowds and fly planes into buildings

The animation and video itself is cool and a great concept. The narrative and story is garbage though. 8,500 lives lost in the Mediterranean thanks to open boarder lunacy (and lets not talk about the increase in human trafficking and open boarder policy has actually brought slavery back to Europe and the UK... SLAVERY for fucks sake. And no one calling for open boarder gives a shit about that. They certainly aren't talking about it and they are definitely not taking responsibility for creating conditions that have lead to a thriving slave trade)... someone has to answer for those lives and slaves and it's not the Right!
