If you like this tier list concept let me know! In future skatepark tier list videos I can add more clips and photos of each park, this is sort of an experiment to see if you like it, also I'm injured so it's way to keep me off the board haha. Next time we'll get even more detailed.

I also grew up skating OB! I've fallen out of skateboarding for 10 years or so but I'm thinking of going back to OB to pick it up again. I feel like out of everywhere in SD, it's the best place to learn. Washington Street is insane. I'm not good enough to skate there, but the aesthetic and layout is amazing. I worked at Belmont Park for a while, and the skatepark there closed within like, a year. They also closed the Wavehouse with the Flowrider wave, which I only got to surf like, twice as a local, since it was always booked. Things are always going in and out there.

CHULA VISTA SK8 PARK is my home park and the fact that you gave it an A put a smile on my face. I'll be in the bowl for like 3 or 4 hours there pretty much all to myself. I love it

I used to skate IB skatepark when it was indoor before they made the outdoor part next to it. It was small but it was fun. Guys from Osiris would show up from time to time. This was around 2000 shortly after The Storm came out.

Being from South FL, now living in SD since ‘17, SD is mind blowing….spoiled with parks. More parks in SD than there is in all of FL… and they’re not made of steel, inside of rinks in parks.

When I first moved here all the skateparks I knew of besides Washington you needed to pay. It's great most are free (or all but YMCA?) Linda Vista looks really fun but the times I've went with friends it's just so crowded. I don't skate transition but Washington is still my favorite then rancho. haven't been up there in a while ever since I could not skate. It would be cool if you did a north county version, I only skated the aforementioned rancho and Poway.

All due respect to Washington Street but we all know North County is where the real heat is. Old Carlsbad (best worst park in the world), Vista, prince, mlk, la colonia, poods, cardiff, the Y, marc park, New escondido park, alga, layers, ca training (boo for having to pay) and so many that used to exist. Not to mention all the secret backyard ramps and bowls and compounds

Great video! Identifying the parks with something more than small thumbnails you can't tell which are which would be great. Maybe just put their names on the representations of them?

this is awesome but the one thing that would make it a A+ video is a minute or so of footage for each park. I know that may be a lot of work to get footage/skate around tours of every park but while you're talking about each one, video footage of the park would be awesome. Not that hard to open another tab and google search/watch other videos while yours plays in tab 1 though!

North County ?

I just moved to SD from Seattle and I’ve been to Ocean Beach skatepark so far and it’s disappointing but maybe I’m a bit spoiled coming from Seattle which has way more Grindline parks than here.

You put a pre fab park above the YMCA. I know its clearly subjective but I think your a little harsh on the Y. I do agree that Washington St belongs at the top but do not think PB belongs on top. I guess at my age the pay to skate doesn’t bother me. It keeps some of the folks away and makes the experience better for me. Not getting cut off by a little kid on a 3 wheel scooter because his mom thinks this is the place for him. I enjoyed your video I just would definitely have changed some of your rankings.

Clairemont in D tier is outrageous. S tier.

NORTH COUNTY PLEAASSE

University Heights - kinda a shady neighborhood around it and bathrooms are awful/ or close/ or used by homeless - and the only water fountain is turned off too often. other than that its a great park and has lights when its dark out.

Dang 20 skateparks in one city and the whole state of North Carolina cant get one decent one.. RIP

not a fan of ob park. basically 0 street & a big chunk of the park is basically unskatable to me because i can’t rip the big section. a lot of going fast & doing nothing
