Ah I almost forgot to mention that even though you cannot access your photos on your sd card while in your phone you may be able to access them by simply putting your sd card into a usb sd card adapter then plugging it into a computer. Don't know why this is but this worked for me several times with different sd cards.

It's possible yes, but bottom line - if your phone (especially modern phone and OS) cannot read the card and reports it as "corrupt" you are screwed. a Format is the only way to fix it from that point. Very small outside chance that your PC via a card reader would miraculously be able to read and recover your data...

I assume you have to download software first, then plug SD card adapter into computer?

Hi, do you know if this software would work if the file reads, "Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Viewer."? The system was preciously saying the files were corrupted, I tried to retrieve the photos and videos manually like you demonstrated in another video and now I'm getting the message I wrote above. #1 step to avoid corrupting your files. You MUST eject your sd card in your settings BEFORE you remove it from your phone. When it's in your computer, again you MUST eject it before removing it from the computer.

I know a simpler way. First you need a rooted phone with CWM recovery and a flash recovery file manager to access your phone storage and the sdcard. If your sdcard got corrupted turn of your phone and go into recovery DO NOT FORMAT, then use the file manager to go into your scarf and check if anything has changed. My sdcard got corrupted 2 times and this method saved it and it is a 32gb sdcard. All my data is OK when I first discovered this method I know this will work for everyone on TWRP.

ILuvTrading yes you NEED them installed long before your sdcard got corrupted in order for it to work if your phone can use otg then that would be just as good. It work for me I don't know if it will work for anyone else. But it is recommended to flash a custom recovery after rooting your device IF there is a supported custom recovery for your device.

I had over 600 pics/vids on my microSD card in my phone prior to 3/08/18, when I took it to Sprint to have a factory reset done on my phone. My pics/videos are not there now, but pics in downloads and screenshots are from a few months ago. briatthedisco hmm I thought it was for both PC and Mac. Just look up software recovery for Mac. Pretty much they all work the same way. If it's a no go bring it to computer repair shop they should be able to retrieve it easily but a small pertenage of the time they will not be able to recover it. They always say no guarantee but most times it's successful. I used to work for a conputer repair shop.

Thanks for the video. I had a friend video my wedding with my Samsung S8 and a SanDisk 125 gb card in my phone. To my horror my wedding will play on my phone then a black screen with a picture of a speaker comes up at halfway through, I can still hear the sound fine and it plays but no video. I have tried to save the video to Facebook, KZread, my computer but can't get it to transfer, it always stops at like 64 %. Is this a corrupt card? I would be so greatful if there is anyway I could fix this that you know how. Every other video and pictures are fine it only messed up on my wedding. Thanks so much.
