Crawler Innovations dual stage foam, I run them in my Proline BFG KM3s. But I like the G8 compound. Great videos man. Keep up the content! I should've made the switch and got a trx4. The scx10 3 has been nothing but issues to fix and it's yet ANOTHER Jeep crawler.. I get they have the licensing for Jeep, but c'mon. Axial got too big for their britches IMO, they've had the crawler market pretty much cornered for too long n got sloppy.

Man awesome video... definitely got to say love the new sound quality even if it's jerryrigged... Rtr's will be available around the 6-26-20... they are only clear body silver or organic...

I have the hyrax predators with proline dual stage. They work great but they are pretty difficult to mount on the wheels so good luck

SBG and Harleydesigns had a like 3 hour interview with the guy behind axial that question came up about the clicky noise.... He said they would be doing changes to the parts tolerances as they move along in production, as for people with the issue they will not be doing a recall because it does not affect drive-ability.

He also said if you don’t put the round side of the gear to the opposing round side the gears interfere and you get the clicking noise.

Yeah I’ve moved those gears around so many times they are just poorly made, they can make all the excuses they want, they failed on them.

I was seriously working on getting a new belly made to fit a normal axial trans in it, just replace the whole thing. Now I may just have to keep it in there

You would really benefit from a 1-3 planetary reduction box, they really help the crawl and they throw down the tq for those heavyweight rigs

The Predator compound with the foams that come with them are definitely more for lighter trucks.

It does seem to be a very sweet truck! Unfortunately I probably will have to hold off until THEY fix THEIR problem! I did buy their UMG 6 x 6 ... they did try to help me out with their center, rear differential, that is definitely engineered wrong also. To no avail!

My 10.3 sounds like a train the gears are so loud. I double checked and made sure all the gears are installed correctly and everything is greased good. Guess I will take it back apart and try this. Hope axial fixes the issue. Redcat would have already been trying to take of the issue and sending out the fix for it.

What gears did you put in it.my gladiator jt clicks..not as bad since I sprayed corrosion x in there.but still clicks..

You can use green loctite 620 or 648. That will solve the problem also. To remove you would just have to heat it up to break the loctite

one issue I had with glue, as I tried that one about a month ago, is if its not shimmed, the glue will lock it in place a bit crooked, so the physical shim helps to keep it centered.

Well done dude, there must be some that had sloppier inputs gears than others. Impressive troubleshooting success. So it’s... 1.) pins installed correctly 2.) proper subtrim for good clean center/freerolling with both endpoints set for good clean dig and 4x4 positions. 3.). Input gear slop. Is this now the proper logical troubleshoot process ?

you are correct in all that, glad you mentioned end points, in the past I've had noise from them being just a bit too far. I also think some of us have gears that are too loose as compared to others

I've yet to see a need to swaybar the capra, in stock form yeah maybe but once tuned and lowered down a bit, they really don't need one.

Exocaged RC good to know. Mine keeps getting hung up on the skid. It’s so light it doesn’t get much grip. This is why I’m hesitant to lower it.

Firestarter i lowered mine way down like you see some others do. Was good on steep inclines and side hills but the belly became a big hook and got caught up on everything.

I'd use a 3d pen and drop some in the gap might help if it's all grease free and dry 🤔

Thanking about getting one of these that engine cover do you have to run that I mean nobody’s really going to see it just questioning whether that’s an integral part of the motor mount?

I don’t use the cover at all. Everything runs just fine like that

I believe Treal is making a larger set of shafts to fix this.

I hope they can figure it out, I've sent them several videos on the issue, if they do make better shafts, you'll see it here as soon as I can get my hands on them.

lol it never hurts to have tires on the rack to choose from!

You know what may have worked good? if you degreased it and used CA glue and glued the gears on so it would fill the gap they have with CA? may be worth a try if the foil fails.

Just glue without shims would most likely lock them crooked, the shim helps keep them centered

Why not use a soda can strip?

Yeah i got new beadlock rims for my gen 8 and the tires seem to slip out of the rim and i cant get a good seal... How do i fix that?

Well. It’s not the cleanest solution but you could use some e6000 on the beads to hold them in place. Might be a pain to get them loose later on though.

@@ExocagedRC That depends. How durable is foil, anyway? I was thinking about putting a thin layer of jb-kwik-weld on the shaft and then sanding it down a little so it would press-fit snuggly

Sucks because soft foams like to grab on everything but give you no support . It's a double edged sword

When your shaft is too small, sleeve that rascal or look for a tighter bore!😂😂🤣🤣 Looks like at least the input gear n shaft could be a one piece assembly. No excuses for having a sloppy bore though, kinda like the moped thing I guess?🤷‍♂️
