BEST BUILD YET! Axial SCX10.3 Trailing, Upgrades & Kit Highlights

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I know it has been WAYY too long since my last video, but I'm back with a (long overdue) SCX10.3 kit build. In this video, I do some trailing in the Pacific Northwest, share highlights from the build, talk about the electronics I spec'd this with, share my early upgrades and initial impressions.
Spoiler - this was one of my favorite builds to date.
Thanks so much to the companies that provided product for this video: Tekin Racing, Team Ottsix Racing, Knight Customs, MyTrickRC, Proline Racing, and Powerhobby.

The Beach scene and the rock crawl at the falls could have had us fooled that this was a full scale vehicle and not a RC Model. Excellent detail from RC Girl, Haley.

Great build, great video. This is the first "crawler" video I've watched. I discovered your channel while surfing RC Plane videos, and enjoyed a couple of those that you put up, so subscribed. Now, this! I'm actually amazed at the complexity of your build; I can see why it might have kept you busy for a couple of months. I'm mainly into DCC model railroading myself, but it's interesting to see what's going on in other hobbies. I'm definitely going to go back and check out your previous "crawler" videos. Thanks for posting them.

Fantastic video. I built my SCX 10 iii in June With HW 1080 esc, Holmes Hobby 550 torque master expert motor, Savox 1210 servo and a Flysky gt5 radio system. I painted a dark gray. I like the color you painted yours because it’s not to dark. The dark gray I painted mine the decals don’t stand out. I love your videos keep up the good work.

Nice rig! Looking forward to see what you find in a 6 channel+ Tx. I'd love to stay with a Spektrum Smart Tx for the battery life read out, etc, but 5 channels isn't enough. I have a Flysky 6 channel Tx that's great, but channels 5 & 6 are dials, not switches, which isn't ideal for 2 speeds, DIG's, winches, lights, etc. Don't feel like changing everything to Futaba.

Great video as usual. As a suggestion, why don't you free up a channel on your Tx by getting rid of the on/off switch for the light kit? Turning on an off the lights is cool but you can just plug in the lights when you indent to run at night. Now you'd have a spare channel for the winch. You'd want one of the three position switches for the winch.

Thank you for a nice informative video with good tips and advice as always! Champagne colour, that explains why I got thirsty watching the video :-). I was about to write the red differensial covers looked toy grade on a otherwise high quality kit, but you solved it with the Treal diff covers, and now the axels looks scale like the rest. Axials lexan bodys now look very nice and sharp in all nooks and corners, and it shows you can have a scale trail truck in lexan now, it really comes close to the plastic bodys in details, especially kitted out with nicely selected aftermarket details, like the hinges you chose, will you glue, or use very small screws for an even more scale look to attach them? I look forward to see this truck when it is broken in and on a trial course like in your backyard with some challenging obstacles for it, perhaps you can make a comparision video with the Traxxas Defender you have? Axial portal axles vs Traxxas portal axles :-). A very nice build by the way, and airbrushing really made the paint nice! Cheers.

Though the Spektrum is a 4 channel and the Flysky is a 10 channel for an up coming snow plow build. The Pacific northwest is a beautiful place to go do anything outdoors.

I never knew there was so much to rc cars/crawlers/bashers I'm more into planes. An affordable tx Spektrum compatible dsmx/dsm2 option I've found is Orangerx from Hobbyking, about half the price of Spektrum. You mentioned your truck isn't waterproofed yet, what's involved with that? Is it a matter of sealing the vehicle with some kind of caulk or do you conformal coat the electronics? You did an amazing job with the kit and your upgrades, your footage looked like a full scale jeep! Amazing!

@@RCGirl element rc. I built one and liked it a lot. Going with a ifs kit on this one to try something different. Wife was confused looking at directions, once see saw the parts it made more sense. She did a good job.

Nice paint job! The kit looks like a lot of work but should be worth the effort. I have 2 rtr trucks and have a lot of fun with them.

A great looking build, I love the colour, it seems to crawl over the rocks ok, the axial scx10-3 really does seem the right rig, 😀😀😀

Love the color of that body. I'm sure the camera doesn't do it justice.
