As someone who has sculpted and worked with clay in the past, this is incredible. It's something that comes with time. Making mistakes and working through them. Getting so far, then totally starting over. Having the wrong expression and changing it. This person has been doing this for quite some time. This is a learned skill, but you have to have patience and put in the work. Tiger Woods didn't wake up one day and become a great golfer. It's the THOUSANDS of hours on the practice greens and driving ranges. It's the time someone puts into something that make them great. So, to anyone who wants to do this, get your ass out there and do it. Get all the supplies you need, set aside a few hours per day, or per week and learn the skills. It's something that doesn't just stay with you either, you need to keep up your skills and stick with it. I hope there are more people out there who do this. It's a dying art, in my humble opinion. It has inspired me to get back into it. I already have too many irons in the fire, but what's one more. It's such a calming thing to do as well. Put on some peaceful music and create! Well done. Thank you Philippe. You are a great artist. I enjoyed watching you work.

As for me it looks like a performance - first one face, then another - it's interesting to see how the author's idea and facial features have changed 🙂🙃

For me the most fascinating part was when you started to change her expression. Thank you for sharing your amazing art.
I don't understand the people who put dislike .... it's a perfect job. I am also an artist and I really like sculpture and there is no fault here. on the contrary many congratulations is perfect. greetings from Mexico

Puede que esos dislikes vengan de artistas con un "understanding" mas elevado que el tuyo. Donde tú no ves faults, otros los ven a leguas. Me puedo dar cuenta de que clase de "artista" eres

By the way, the phrase "many congratulations" hurts. It's so fucking spanglish and unbearable.

This is incredible, you're truly an inspiration for artists everywhere. Thank you.
Best video I've seen yet of the whole process...allows one more confidence..especially when you know you can and can see the vision in your mind and just knowing that it's confirmed here as to what you thought you could do yourself, it's amazing ...thank you so much for this time and process...just love it.
You are incredibly talented. It was a great honor to watch you work. Very cool to see two portraits in one with the hair and expression change. Also very impressive gallery behind you!

Thats completely different..! Greek art was greatly innovative, creative. The sculpture here are just technical, with low expression and no style
this is bloody beautiful. Ive been trying to learn this and it is almost frustrating to watch a pro effortlessly put forth such a wonderful piece. Keeps one motivated! gotta keep practicing !
Wow, what a talent, the kind of art that I appreciate more than there is in my country, what a wonderful gift, I sincerely feel moved to see and appreciate it, I've already won another fan and enrolled

Amazing work as always! Such an incredible piece!

Exellent great sir, you reminded me of my time when I used to make sculptures too. I am also a sculptor. But due to lack of space, I stopped working. Seeing your work I remembered my days

Great video, as always. These are especially nice to see uploaded at times like these, when we cannot get out to classes.
That was amazing, I would love to be able to afford a bust of me to be done but the time and expertise needed is probably way beyond my price range but your video was fascinating and you are very skilled at what you do. Thank you for sharing
Que habilidade maravilhosa Philippe Faraut! Belos traços e delicadeza na colocação e retirada de material. fantástico!
Just awesome skill, seriously, mesmerizing! And beautiful. Thank you for creating!
In my country, only students who major in portrait drawing or a mannequin craftsmen can do such a job properly. Few illustrators and comic artists have knowledge and experience of academic portrait drawing. Everyone draws anime and manga with the motif of anime and manga. You guys love manga and anime, but I admire the advanced skills of American illustration and comics.

Such a delight watching you work!!!
Wonderful! The final bust reminded me the young Italian actress Gaia Girace.
Hi, Philippe , do you start laying shellac and making a mold when the clay is still fresh or after it is dry and hard? Or do you wait for hardening a silicon layer before putting another layer? Is the clay you used reusable yet? Thank you for this movie, hypnotizing!

@@su-lj8ni Do not start making the mold while the clay is dry, it needs to be fairly wet/damp so it can easily be removed from the mold afterwards.
Incredible. Thank you. A pleasure to watch.
