@@canaisyoung3601SCTV was on American TV during SNL’s original cast days. SNL was always hit or miss, but SCTV was always excellent. It played on a local channel that had old sitcoms and reruns, and when they added The Goodies right after, I pretty much bailed on SNL. No VHS VCRs then, just $uperexpen$ive Betamax machines most people couldn’t afford. That was 1977-8ish, when Harold Ramis was still a performer. The 1980 second cast of SNL with some of the weakest writing and lamest performers was so bad the show didn’t even last the whole season. SCTV was always great.

To be fair, SNL wasn't doing so well in 1980 and 1981. This show and Fridays picked up the slack.
Taxi Driver starring Dick Cavett had me laughing before the scene. I want the whole movie!
Gregory Peck's VOICE is dead on! and Dick Caveat is so well done!

Dave Thomas does the only Bob Hope ever endeavored. Even Rich Little conceded he could never do Hope. And Rick Moranis' Dick Cavett is the only one I ever saw, and he captures Dick's quintessence perfectly.
Literally one of the greatest skits ever, Rick Moranis absolutely killed it! The Greggory Peck and Bob Hope were spot on too.

Agree. He had him down, solidly. Cavett was an intelligent and effective interviewer. He had really worthwhile guests. Those two you cited were impressive. Check out some others. You won't be disappointed. Off the top of my head, Orson Welles, John Lennon, George Harrison, Hedy Lamarr, Robert Altman, et al. There are too many to list. Cheers.
Moranis absolutely kills it in both, astonishing really...
Awesome! I'll be tuning in Thursday at nine!!!
I like that Flaherty made a gun-firing sound with his mouth when he pulled the trigger
Never saw the Dick Cavett version before. Brilliant! "Well, goodnight!"

It's the only one that I'm aware of. And I'm an 'old hand' of sorts. If there are any others, I'm confident that it can't measure up to Dave's.
I used to stay up so late in Minnesota to watch SCTV. Funniest show on TV. My dad thought it was weird that I laughed out loud late at night.
Absolutely hilarious....Rick doing Woody Allen and Joe Flaherty's impression of Gregory Peck are just perfect....one of my favorite comedy shows in the 80's....why doesn't some channel bring the reruns back??.....would sure love to see this again : ))))
Gotta love how far they pushed that gag. I do wish they also had Eugene Levy do this bit as Judd Hirsch too, though...
I will never forget the first time I saw SCTV . It was an accident , since I left the TV on and suddenly: I saw the first SCTV. Saw every one of them after that …
Joe F's Gregory Peck was spot on. All the impressions here were first class.
I am 54 years old, and grew up a big fan of Bob Hope. But, also watched all the SCTV, late night. Can't decide which is funnier: The real Bob, or Dave Thomas' impersonation. The real Bob had a long career, so I guess he wins. But, Dave Thomas can crack me up with just a look. Both are pure gold
Joe Flaghrety was hardcore as Gregory Peck 😂🎉
Rick does a great Woody Allen. Weaker impersonators always over exaggerate Woody's mannerisms.

My favourite has to be Joe Flaherty as Gregory Peck. That is just hilarious.
All of them spot on!! SCTV was hilarious!! Thank you for sharing, needed the laughs!!😂🤣
Dave's Bob Hope was one of his best roles. A lot of comedians, especially Woody, deeply respected Hope's technique.
Such a brilliant show and concept (doing everything as a TV network)! This was the late seventies, when SNL was in it’s finest form and then we had SCTV at the same time. Great, great TV!

A most hilarious spoof of Taxi Driver with various actors other than Robert DeNiro. 😂
This stuff to quote the comic hack of "Seinfeld", "gold, gold!!!!"
