I love this little truck, especially with the 5-speed. That body looks in great shape and if that is a 300-6 which I suspect it is, those engines are damn near bulletproof. I hope this finds a good home. This is another truck I'd love to buy if I were closer, I bet there is a lot of life left in it.

THAT is a truck that has character. A bare bones vehicle with no options, and very inexpensive to repair if repairs are needed. By the condition of the body, that truck is worth saving for the right person.

Nice! Right up my alley. It will run, suspect without much tinkering. That door lock was a high tech innovation in 81. Just enough to confuse the driver for the first 6 months of ownership. When Ford gave up on the rim blow horn in the 70’s they figured this was a great new way to interject panic and confusion to their loyal drivers. Thanks Jay, very much enjoyed this one. Good wishes to pops!

My 81, straight 6, 4 on floor….2 21 gallon gas tanks/I could get 20 mpg and drive 800+ miles without stopping! I had a canopy and on long trips the wife and 2 kids would ride back there, coming and going thru the cab windows! Bed was carpeted, twin fold out couch, lights, cooler, porta potty. We did a trip a year from Colorado to Oregon. Times change. Loved that truck!

I love mine!! It was given to me by a neighbor that had no parking space. It ran but barely. I took out the 300 st six and my mechanic put in a 2017 5.0 from a wrecked mustang. I added a Paxton supercharger and she’s a beast! We put it on the dyno a month or so ago. It was making 648hp to the rear. Next on the list is breaks and paint.

I had an 81 Custom F100, mine had AC, and power brakes/steering. I loved that truck. It was a 4 spd, but 4th gear was OD. Probably the same here. 4th wasn't actually an OD gear, it had like 276 ratio rearend, and the first 3 gears were really low ratio. A neighbor bugged me and bugged em until I sold it to him. I wish I had never let go of it though. it was great old truck.

Thats really rare for one of these to be in such good shape. The f100 in those days was the absolute cheapest option and usually they got used really hard and bullnoses in general tend to have really bad problems with rust especially rear wheel well rot. Dont crush it or anything. Worse comes to worse the cab and box will be worth a lot to people who are restoring a bullnose

What is this crap Jay? A real truck that can be used as truck? One that does not require a degree in computer/information technology so that it can move forward and backward? One that can be easily worked on with normal tools? That did not require payments for 84 months? What were they thinking back then? (Sarcasim). Love it of course and I can defintely see why this would sell as myself and many others would love this to fix-up and use as truck and not as an over-priced toy. My brother had one like that many years ago except he had an 8' box on his and looking @ today's over priced/over rated toys that they try to pass of as trucks - would love this! Definiitely a keeper and worth getting running and fixing up somewhat to sell it. Wish you had more of a background on it as to why whomever did not fix it but instead junked it out for reasons no known or understood but cool! What is happening with the bright orange 250 from months back? Was hoping to see more video on that.....????? Thank You! :-)
