Scrap Swarf Sand Casting - Trash To Treasure - ASMR Metal Melting - BigStackD Aluminum Casting

Ойын-сауық

Hi there everyone how are you all? Great I'm hoping. Now I get a lot of people commenting to do something more than just blocks so this week I thought I would sandcast something I saw on thingyverse, I have no idea what it is it just looked interesting so I thought I would Print it and cast it with some High-grade aluminum swarf that a subscriber sent me . A lot of people have Sent me items to be melted so bear with me and I’ll get through them all eventually. Also In today’s video I sandcast me up a nice sand Rammer to use in future videos. Now Sit back take a load off and I hope you enjoy today’s video and see you all next Friday😁.
Merch is now available but I’m not going to push it like some channels , it’s there to find on your own free will. I will mention it here and there but not throw it in your face in every video like a lot of channels do, but if you don’t want the Merch but still want to support the channel Simply donate some of your time to help support the channel just by allowing the ads to play through this will help out a lot and that’s how I make a bit extra revenue and the good thing is more revenue means more giveaways👊🏻😄. A better way to support the channel is play one of my playlists on your computer before you walk away from it and let it play through that really helps as well but don’t ever feel as though you need to watch the ads if you don’t want to simply skip them and move into the video it’s completely up to you and I understand if you don’t have the time to do so👌🏻and like I always say if you like the rings shown and used in this video be sure to check out the description where you can get 20% off the already discounted rings using my code and if you want to try your hand at melting yourself you can buy the burner on its own or the whole furnace set up and I can organize a 5% link for you off the total furnace price just email me on bigstackddddd@mail.com 😁👍🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

i cant speak for everyone, but i still say its pretty entertaining to see a sandcast mold made. its part of the melting and casting process, so it should be included. is anyone else with me on this?

Seeing a mold made in this fast forward way is fine. I didn't do much sand casting, but I remember mold making as arduous, frustrating (it's so easy to mess up, and you have to start over), and tedious. Making a mold easily takes hours, and the things you make molds for tend to be intricate, and need a lot of work anyway. The guy who ran the workshop where I went hated sand casting, do that didn't help Anyway, watching mold making in real time would make these videos too long, IMO

Oh yeah, that head print is absolutely something H.R. Giger-esque. Everything he did was always very 'biomechanical'; the Alien / Xenomorph, the covers of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer's EP "Brain Salad Surgery" (titled "Work Nr. 217 - ELP I" and "Work Nr. 217 - ELP II" respectively) are great examples of that, and the Thingiverse print heavily reminds me of the same type of "biological mechanical" deal.

That design looks like it was inspired by the work of Swiss artist HR Giger. He created a type of art that combined humanoid and technological forms that he called “biomechanical.” His work was used as the basis for the creature designs in the ALIEN and SPECIES films, as well as album covers for Glenn Danzig and Emerson Lake & Palmer.

God damn I was wondering for ages why it was so familiar, the influence in ELP is VERY VERY etched into my brain. Thank you so much for this comment.
