The MTF in this short film is called "Village idiots" There are multiple MTF task forces that are assigned different things. Village idiots are to collect as much information and they aren't trained to be full combative, Like some MTF units. They are usually tasked to suburban areas. It makes more sense that they mess up like not clearing rooms in shots. But that's just the cuts and mistakes they didn't have the time to re make the shot.

Turns out that the doors they didn't clear were cleared but lost in the editing process.

I've seen a few reactors say they could bash through the drywall to bypass the door, but I would figure if they went through the trouble of installing an actual safe door to the basement, the walls and ceiling would probably be reinforced as well.

Probably. Also they’re dealing with SCPs so there’s the possibility that breaking through a wall could trigger a reaction or something

The SCP in this movie was an Eldritch Horror. Literally a giant bio mass that feeds off of people. Some grow to the size of planets and if you see its face they cause the person to go insane. Watch the intro to the game Darkest Dungeon. Overlord is pretty much an IRL adaptation. Except the Eldritch Horror in Overlord is invisible, which is a pretty scary though.

They had professional advisors to help them with the "tactical\military" parts and some of the errors they made were done for certain reasons. For example, the parts where they were all stuck together were primarily made due to the fact that they had to take some shots for the movie of the entire team, if they were all spaced out they would have never fit together into the camera shot. Also, their primary threat is usually not groups of guerrilla fighters ready to ambush them or some armed bad guys, so some of their tactics might be different from the ones used by conventional special forces. For example, the close triangle formation in the middle of the field might be done cause they wanted to stay close and maintain eye contact with each other as if you could see some of these anomalies can be invisible, intangible, even deadly quiet, they might just make someone disappear in an instant and if you are distant from others they might not notice something happened to you. For the doors on the last floor, yep, they totally skipped them, I don't remember if they had some issues with the spaces in that particular scene, or was something about not having the chance to reenact the scene for some reason (maybe was because of the bad guy's blood on the floor, they should have taken out all that plastic thing and replace it), I don't remember well but I think they talk about it in their "behind the scenes" video or maybe Drewski explained a little about it, you should check it out it's very interesting cause they also show all the equipment they used. Last thing, but this is just a question out of my curiosity, I heard a lot of people talk about not going into the torrent cause you gonna have wet socks and it's bad. But if you have to cross a torrent what can you really do about it? P. S.: the sick "pin throw" move made by Drewski was not scripted, he made it by himself cause he said he figured to still have the pin in his hand after throwing the smoke grenade so he decided to toss it towards the camera.

I agree a lot with what you say. I did watch the behind the scenes stuff and saw they had that military advisor for the cqb scenes. I found out they did have a few errors with scenes on the second floor because some stuff didn't make it into the final cut. Also I did realize after that torrent scene they could have waterproof boots or shoes when walking through the torrent. I always use waterproof hiking shoes when hiking or rucking so that's prolly what they had. That shot was also most likely just meant to set the mood for the scene so it didn't really matter in the grand scheme of the movie anyways

I really liked the way you reacted to this as you were the only person that didn't make me die of cringe by going on a loooong rant about inaccuracies, and you generally seem like a chill guy. Honestly looking forward to seeing more of your content. Anyways,I just wanna point out that that they (the MTF) don't regularly fight humans besides the Chaos Insurgency.

Yeah like “savage reactions” they are really cringe about tactics even going so far as “not clearing that door is annoying me” even though they cleared the house already? There are good ones that don’t mind but most of vets or military flip or note the “inaccurate tactic” they see even though they are looking at a completely different military force comprising of literally almost every country in the world to fight, destroy or capture anomalies.

@@planetenwanderer5329 a lot of the time it’s ignorance of the situation and going off on what THEY were trained to fight and that’s humans, SCP don’t fight humans most of the time(mainly it’s chaos) their literal job is to research and capture any anomalies they find(like the ecologist from stalker) so conventional tactics of the military is often useless against them so they make their own tactics to adapt as they go, so it’s usually a mix of different tactics combined into one so if a anomaly can’t be captured they can destroy it or trap it to be forever locked away from the world.

Nice job man, I can see you goin' somewhere with this whole youtube thing. Your voice isn't annoying to listen to, and you have good opinions and actually react, keep it up man.

When you said they were all airsoft guns, that's actually not true. Evan and Drewski both said in seperate behind the scenes that they sometimes used real guns for the closeups. Mostly because of something up close that kind of gives away it's an airsoft gun, I think? And they wanted to go a bit more heavy on the realism? I can't remember.

Yeah I remember watching the follow-up video and Drewski explaining that. It was mainly the handguns that needed to be real probably for that one shot of the mtf operator press checking his glock at the beginning of the film

Not a single reactor ever notices the blackout curtains on the door :( I agree maybe they should have confirmed it wasn't like, I don't know, some one-way window bullcrap or something but the door window was def covered edit: that was a lot of fun! every time i come back to overlord and dollhouse reactions i love it more and more One thing I do wish is that the group had gotten punished for some of the mistakes they made, like, it would have made it a little better I think if as they were approaching Pender on the floor, we'd gotten a glimpse of movement in the doorframe they skipped clearing. It would have foreshadowed the entity they ended up finding in that hallway

as others say, they are not dealing with human adversaries most of the time, so they are not gonna spread out too far, don't want to be picked off one by one, but yes this was a cult so they should have checked out those doors you mentioned, can't remember what the director explained it as.

iirc he explained that they had to cut the part where they cleared the top floor before finding the guy. I can't remember why they cut it though.
