I bought a white on black 06 CVPI for around that price in great condition with only 104,334 miles (971 idle hours). With that many idle hours it's considered a unicorn in the used police car market. And if you do the math 134,334 miles + (971 idle hours) × (33 miles on engine per idle hour) you get 136,377 engine running miles. When I test drove it, it ran like a champ. Great performance and response, and was fast from a roll for a 4,000 lbs tank. When driving normal, "It rides like an old Cadillac." Now it has 148k + miles (1400 + idle hours), is still going strong, the a/c still works, and is still riding like an old Cadillac. So to me my CVPI was also a steal. No other used car can give you ride comfort, room, high performance, and can handle abuse like the CVPI. If you want an affordable, well built luxury car, buy a used Lexus. If you want an affordable well built car with room and comfort, buy any of the panther platform cars. If you want an affordable well built high performance car, with room and comfort, that can handle any road, and any style of driving, mine's aggressive, then buy a good used CVPI, you won't regret it.

The only new car I have ever had is my 2018 Corolla SE. I knew the reputation for extreme reliability and to me it really has a nice sporty look. Four years later and it has not had one single problem! The only issue is that it rides rough on bumpy roads because of the low profile tires, but on the other hand, it corners quite well. I test drove a Honda Civic when I was looking at new cars, it was also nice but the Corolla was a little quieter and surprisingly it was a little smoother running in my opinion. I usually buy used cars to save money but at the time I was driving 60 plus miles a day for work and was tired of fixing my 06 Trailblazer every other week... I take good care of my cars and the Toyota Corolla has never let me down, it runs just as nice as the day I drove it off the lot!

Im glad to see those cars still humming along. I had a 2001 Taurus station wagon, i bought it with 105,000, sold it at about 240,000 miles. It was $1800.00 well spent. I liked it a lot, but my wife got a new car and didnt want me keeping an extra car. I got her old one, and sold my beloved Taurus for 900.00. I did fix things through the years myself... muffler, ac compressor, cooling fan, fuel pump, and brakes every now and then. The guy who bought my car got it for punishment for his kid, for wrecking the nice car they got her. Cars are engineered to break, not last, despite what anyone may tell you. If you can manage to fix it yourself, or not get it to break, you've beat the odds. In this sense, Chryslers are the best engineered car on the road.

Lolol Scotty! This was so funny and I love your humbleness, that quality is beauty in a person…anyway, Your car is absolutely FAB!!! I drive a 1998 Honda Accord with a v6 and I’m in love with it. Needs paint but it all works and paid for too. 185000 miles,,It’s still worth what I paid for it and I have a chuckle at some people who drive new cars, I will never! I like my vacations twice a year and my investments. My husband just went on vacation yesterday and his 2002 truck started overheating, what a drag but we have the money to fix it because we live reasonably. We will wear our designer thrift shop clothes when we go to our mechanic. We have learned so much from your videos that you didn’t have to make. We have fixed many things on our cars over the years. Thank you for helping US! We enjoy your sense of humor too and your speech is in laymen’s terms is a blessing. Have a great day Scotty, agape!

I bought a white on black 06 CVPI for around $3,000 in great condition with only 104,334 miles (971 idle hours).

ABS & AIRBAGS, I'll give you that, but I've owned cars from the '70s to the early '00s & I always felt safer in older cars ('70s) cuz they were more solid & didn't incorporate STYROFOAM into the bumper design. 😲😲😲

Scotty, thinking of buying a 2000 and up model Celica if i cant find a 94-95 model. What are your thoughts on the 2000 and up years? Fun story. My dad (RIP) had an early 90s model Celica, and rebuilt the engine and transmission in just 1 day. Still had time to test drive it with me with some sun shine left haha! We took it a dealership in TN that same week, and the dealership traded him a brand new cargo van with an upgraded stereo and a set of monster JBL speakers. Even handed him 2,000 dollars in CASH for the Celica. Less than 2 weeks later, a guy at the dealership took the Celica for a spin (probably advertising or for fun) but underestimated the spunkyness, and wrapped the thing around a tree completely totaling the car. Needless to say, he was fired, but that car was so fun to drive or in my case ride in, and it was also relatively easy to work on despite some of the tight spaces.
