I admire how Tessa stood up so calm with such grace and class..composed listening looking at Scott.. and clapped on Scott's announcement of his engagement... it is heart breaking for all their fans to watch for sure... but let's get over it. They both have love and respect for each other beyond our understanding. Let's leave it at that. We can believe what we want.. at least even if only just for our own thoughts that they do love each other and happy that way... I read the comments first and then watched the video - guys yall are waaay over reacting, there was nothing bad or disrespectful in his speech. He did mention Tessa and her importance first. Relax and take a walk or something :)

Bless Tessa for still remaining classy as ever while standing through his awful speech. I truly don’t know how she did it but I think it shows how amazing she is ❤️

For a man who is less comfortable speaking than skating, who us truly emotional when talking of personal things, I think he did a fabulous job and acknowledged the partnership rather than focusing on himself! Kudos Scott.

I'm still in awe watching tessa/scott's past performances even if it was 5yrs.ago.philiipines love them!

Is it just me that doesn't see Scott happy he is so different, when a man gets engaged he is blooming with love holding his fiancé's hand and giving her a kiss from time to time but Scott didn't seem to do either ,it's just yeah I just got engaged... I don't know, he usually has his heart on his sleeve and is very emotional.and watching his intendant,she was very somber, just look at prince Harry and Megan they couldn't keep there hands off each other. I wish him well just hope he isn't making a mistake.

Agreed he is not happy and he is different. He showed no excitement, no hugs, no kisses no holding hands and no talking with the fiancee at the WOF ceremony He and Tessa shared a laugh or two and talked to each other. A very strange situation I think he is making a very, very big mistake. He is jumping into the engagement as if he is running from the reality of maybe not being able to admit he loves Tessa or trying to forget Tessa or something has happened. Tessa admits she had a crush on him from skating school when they started skating together. She turned down two offers to join the Ballet Academy of Dance Company to skate with him and had two major leg surgeries having to learn to walk again just to help him win gold medals. What a sacrifice. I would pretty much put that into the category of caring deeply for someone. He can marry who he wants but to throw Tess under the bus is very disrespectful referring to her as his second skate partner giving fiancee the honor of being called his first during his speech. No, no not good. Fiancee was nowhere to be found for 10 years. She kicked Scott to the curb got married and moved on. Now wants to show up in his life and do what she can to dissolve his and Tessa's partnership/relationship. I fear Scott is stepping into a bad situation by making a hasty decision with this woman. Sad to see two great Olympians/partners/friends of 21 years who had it all end this way. It would have been nice to see them together in a few more tours Co-producing them together before they officially retire which is what Tessa said in a recent interview that she envisioned. She also said she did not expect the engagement which potentially could change things. I wish Tessa well and true happiness. Can I get an agreement?

Scott and Tessa are in love in reality as shown in all of their body language and performances. No doubt both of them will missed their an exceptional chemistry. They have been together since they were young. Their relationship is very unique but actions speak louder.! I got no words to describe When Scot was delivering his speech on stage with Tessa. He seems not at all by himself. I wish you all the best Scott and Tessa. I am one of your diehard fans. Good luck to you both. I wish to see you ice skating once again no matter what happened to your private life. Remember you both grew up together in numerous positive aspects of your journey. Good luck. I love you both.

At the 22:41 mark Scott says with dismay as he looks back at Tessa, "Why do we do this apart from each other?!? This is awful!!! Scott may be asking himself that a lot as he moves forward without Tessa by his side. I've loved both Tessa and Scott for quite a long time, but I'll never understand how Scott could not bring himself to share his engagement news with his 22-year skating life partner, Tessa. She learned about it through the grapevine, more or less. No matter how badly things may have devolved between Tessa and Scott, there is NO good excuse for Scott to not share that news with someone he's repeatedly called his best friend since he was 9 years old.🙁

All of his body language, his faux pas, and eye contact says he's making a HUGE mistake. Very oddly, he says so little about Tessa. If there are truly platonic business and skate partners wouldn't he go on about her like he has for the past 20+ years? Very telling. Also, despite her ever present class and grace, I've never seen the light in Tessa's eyes and the smile on her face so dim. In the interviews afterward, she looks like she just got told she has mere hours to live...grim, sober, and concerned. She's watching him so intensely with a great deal of concern and worry...it's almost as if she is projecting his sadness mingled with her own. I wish drunk Scott Moir would show up and ask him what he asked the Female Olympic Hockey Team. Where are you drunk Scott Moir? ...no offense, but you need a wake-up call.

Just heard a interview with Tessa that she and Scott will be reconnecting at Worlds in Montreal on March 15-23rd they will have their skates but would not compete but possibly would strap their skates on and do some skating. On you tube: "Tessa Virtue interview on TSN 1040 Vancover Feb. 2020. Interesting? Wow are they friends again and how did he get permission from fiancee to skate with T? Interesting twist? Your thoughts.

What a load of nonsense, he speaks only to their success as a partnership and not to himself as an individual. Tessa looks so classy and truly pleased to have him acknowledged.

I love Tessa and Scott as individuals and I completely respect their decision to be with/marry other people, but you have to admit that this speech is awkward and that Scott calling Tessa his business partner, but nothing more personal, is weird...

You’re right, it is awkward and weird. And it’s why a lot of us don’t buy their storyline of “oh we’ve always been just friends and business partners.” Why would they go from being so close to being so awkward just because they’re with other people?

Oh I think the other little skater in his life might have something to say about that it was she he threw a spanner in the works by getting herself pregnant and nabbing him she resorted to the lowest trick in the book no magic there sorry, he married her after the baby was born, wasn't it? Not impressed.They should have gone on to bigger and better things together Virtue and Moir? Sorry for me the story is ended the magic is gone.Moving on.

i think Tessa wanted more from life , she is lovely ! Why was it so hard to ask each other for marriage. I think Scott is Georges and he has a enchanting boyish charm its very endearing to women but he is a simple living down to earth kind of man , doesn't expect a whole lot of things in life , Tessa wanted more, sadly ! They should take a leaf out of the Russian pair Gordeeva and Grinkov How much they loved each other and then she faced that tragedy , every time I see them skate I cry , he was so loving towards her , an honest love without games .

Its strange he hasnt married Jackle yet they were going to get married in July we now have August is it all just a cop out . The way they hugged and looked at each other was more then just friendship . Whatever happens i wish them both the best and ( be real ) you were stunning together , just like beautiful Russian pair gordeeva and Sergai .

@@eleonorebye4022 Just read your comment I whole heartedly agree. Why have they not gotten married yet? I read that he postponed the wedding due to the pandemic. To date, another date has not been set. S is now coaching and T is studying for her MBA she did some coaching right after the retirement but she is now dating a hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs which is Scott's favorite team and the guy happends to be S's good friend his name is Morgan Rielly so it sounds like T is giving S back of his own medicine when he got engaged to what he called his first skate partner and who is a rival to Tessa it really crushed Tessa when he got engaged she said in an interview the other day" I am having a very hard time losing my best friend". I understand S is having a hard time dealing with T dating Rielly. So here we are. I also feel if S really wanted to marry this woman they could have had a very private ceremony long time ago with just a "justice of the peace" at the court house or just a minister and have a big cerebration later when it is safe to get back to normal life so why postpone it. This woman has been married before and usually second marriages are not bit they are very small and intimate. Does not make sense . Like you said is this a cop out!? Maybe S is having some second thoughts? Who knows?
