    Great Video! Been searching for videos on fishman fluence classics (particular for "stratiness" in a 24 fret guitar). Glad Scott's pickups brought hype to them so I can hear people's thoughts!

    For the record. The coil splits work differently on Fishman Fluence pickups. Instead of a 5 way it has a three way and a three way mini toggle. Everything else was the same

    The hardware modifications have completely changed the look and coolness of the guitar. Are the gold hardware parts ibanez parts or a third party company? I have the lefty version of the AZ2402 and want to change the tone and volume knobs to chrome to match the rest of the hardware.

    What do the pickups come with? I want to put these in an Ibanez RG 520 (passive pickups currently) and curious about what else I’ll need to buy. Any info would be appreciated. Also, love the vids and your playing is fantastic as well 🤘

    @@jimmyfranklin oh thanks dude! Mine should be in soon. Can’t wait to play around with them. out of curiosity, do you prefer the mini toggle setup to the push/pull knobs? I’d have to drill a hole for a mini toggle but that’s not really that big a deal to me.

    Hey man thank you for the video! I have the same guitar and was thinking to install Tim's pickup in it, but I read that you should modify the bridge cavity to make the pickup fit because it's thicker than the original. Is it correct? Did you make a modification to the guitar body to make this pickup fit? Thank you!

  • @jimmyfranklin

    Ok! Great question. Maybe I’ll do a video. The pickups are actually TALLER than the stock pickups. We thought we were going to have to rout the guitar under the bridge position pickup a little deeper to fit the pickups but chose not to and the pickup just sits a little too close to the string now but it hasn’t been a problem. I’m sure all the guitars are a little different and you may not run into that issue but you may have it worse. Are you planning on doing it yourself??

    @@jimmyfranklin thanks for the reply man, I appreciate it! I'm planning to do it with a local luthier, since I don't have any experience on soldering/installing a pickup and definitely don't want to ruin this amazing guitar! haha. Do you think it's worth it to route the guitar for this pickup? I'm afraid that I won't be able to install the old pickup after routing it, or ruin the sound because it's placed to low from the string. And by the way if you decided to do a follow up video then I'm really all for it! I'm sure it'll help others too!

    Are these the same as the Fluence Classics open core but with gold screws & slugs? I've tried the Moderns and didn't care for them. I'm curious about the Classics because I generally like "PAF" pickups with Alnico V magnets. The singlecoil & hotrod voicing options seem like good options to explore too.

    These are the same as the Fluence open core, just with golden pole pieces. The second voice on the neck pickup is not a hot rodded humbucker like the bridge's 2nd voice, it's Fishman's own voice which they call "Clear, airy chime".

  • @jimmyfranklin

    @jimmyfranklin

    8 ай бұрын

    Respectfully I am pretty sure that’s incorrect. I know for a fact that voice two is hot rodded humbuckers because it’s in the instruction manual I’m looking at. Voice three is the middle position and that may be the airy chimey setting.

  • @pera1295

    @pera1295

    8 ай бұрын

    @@jimmyfranklin I taking that straight from the Fishman's website, as I said the bridge pickup's 2nd voice is a hot rod, the neck's 2nd voice is airy chimey, the 3rd voice is not the middle position, each pickup has three voices, the 3rd is a single coil voice on both.

    @jimmyfranklin in your your short where you "compared" them you changed the pickup selector closer to the neck with the original pickups which would make a different tone. It's very dishonest your misleading ppl to think that these pickups will sounder brighter when ther gona sound basically the same

    @@jimmyfranklin alr, if you were only going for review okey, but it's good thing to compare them. If there is major difference like being able to switch them between single/humbucker then there is no need but at same time it is transparent thing to really show what people are paying for
