    Front wheel would have folded on a corner.. or a pothole.. terrible consequences. Good thing the client took it to the shop.

    The owner of this bike trains at a different level to most and has some beautiful bikes. This makes a good winter all weather bike and given the sort of riding conditions and miles it takes it does the job intended.

    Hi Bikespeeds Team! Just want to say thank you for your videos! I really think you do an amazing job with your content. Real life bikes we all have in our garage and maybe want to see how professionals deal with issues! I’m not that big of a mechanic myself but an engineer, so I’m very interested in the craftsmanship! And I really like that your emphasize that the correct torque on bolts is very important! Especially on bikes people seam to ignore it which I think can be fatal. This real life content is hard to find on KZread! So I wish you all the best for the new year especially with your channel! It’s currently absolutely underrated! And PS: I wish I’d had a professional job like yours here in Germany nearby where I live! Unfortunately the last one closed down a couple of years ago! All the best for your business!!

    I'm going to loosen my spokes to zero tension and see how that rider felt... until a spoke head pops off. Then building the wheel will be enjoyable, as always.

  • @francisbrooks8533
    @francisbrooks85332 жыл бұрын

    Thats amazing. Im no expert but I would think those spokes are that loose from use....so we've someone who rides a LOT but doesnt care if their bike is about to fall apart while they fly down a hill....this is hugely contradictory.

    Hey mate. Thanks for the video and the other ones. They are very helpful and help me a starting noob home bike mechanic. So I got a problem: my bikes headset and bearings are like this one, its also a Scott, and still after replacing the lower headset bearings and greasing them up theres grinding noises and feel when steering from side to side. Could it be that the crown race or the lower cup is worn out and needa replacing?

  • @Bikespeeds

    @Bikespeeds

    8 ай бұрын

    It absolutely could be or some form of damage on anything from the bars to the forks, noises can also travel through the tubes in a bike and sound like they’re coming from somewhere they’re not. Which is to say unfortunately we can’t offer much advice other than to keep ruling things out by replacing them till you find it, good luck!🧡⚙️

    What could have caused the collapse of the spoke tension? Thanks

  • @Bikespeeds

    @Bikespeeds

    Spokes are moving constantly, you only have to lose tension in one or two and the spokes will work and work away from their correct tension over time
