I spent 4 years in Germany as a former Soldier and had a great time there. I was in Osnabrück for 3 years and my final year in the Army was spent in Hameln. Loved every minute of my time in Germany and will definitely be back. Weihenstephenar is the best Bier in the World Prost 🍻 and Sláinte 🥃

I applied for 3 matches in the public ballot for tickets, Dusseldorf, Cologne and Gelsenkirchen in the second round of group matches, but was unsuccessful in all three. Turns out that one of them I'm missing is Scotland v Switzerland. Slightly gutted to be missing out but will make do with watching on telly. I'm hoping we can make it out of the group.

Was at the opening game at the 98 WC, great atmosphere, only spoiled by the narrow defeat.

That group A is quite open tbh. In previous years Germany would walk it but their NT being a mess for so many years you never know.

Am a Scot living in Hamburg for 40+ years and follow both Scotland & Germany. Germany are not performing nor as strong as in many past competitions and I think if Scotland go into that match with an attacking and not defensive mentality they could get a result and truth be known my concern would be Scotland winning the opener but drawing or losing against both Hungary & Switzerland because of past history - I hope Scotland proves me wrong. German Director of the company I work for pinged me to say "awesome the best opener he could have wished for. Scottish Fans have an awesome positive reputation here in Germany and loving that such a team and country opens with them the tournament.

For services to the Scottish game ,Steve Clarke should be guaranteeing you tickets for all of the games pal . 😉

I used to hate it when Scotlands' opening match at World Cup Finals were against the weakest team in the group. More often than not in those days, very little was known about them, they knew about us and what to expect. We'd beat them but not by enough goals and we'd go out by goal difference, even without losing a game!

We avoided France, England, Spain and Italy. Germany will be tough at home but they're not in a good place at the moment. We have them in the opening game. In WC 2022 they lost their opening game to Japan. In Euro 2020 they lost their opening game to France. If we can get 3 points on the board it'll be a great start. Don't underestimate Hungary though, they qualified unbeaten.

10 years ago. Id have gotten the absolute fear seeing we had Germany as our opening game. But now. The tables are different and id say we have on par teams at worst. Very exciting for both sets of fan's ❤🎉
