Andante spianato et grande polonaise brillante in E-flat major, Op. 22, was composed by Frédéric Chopin between 1830 and 1834. The Grande polonaise brillante in E-flat, set for piano and orchestra, was written first, in 1830-31. In 1834, Chopin wrote an Andante spianato in G, for piano solo, which he added to the start of the piece, and joined the two parts with a fanfare-like sequence. The combined work was published in 1836, and was dedicated to Madame d'Este.
Andante spianato i Wielki Polonez Es-dur op. 22 - kompozycja Fryderyka Chopina. Prapremiera dzieła odbyła się w kwietniu 1835 w Sali Konserwatorium Paryskiego, podczas koncertu dyrygenta François-Antoine’a Habenecka[1].
Bravissimo. Nice tempo and excellent interpretation. Very elegant as well. Crazy to think that Zimmerman played this when he was only 18

Zimmerman is a Chopin GENIUS. Ding Thai Son has a very whimsical and poetic version, Kate Liu has a very romantic and endearing version, Lang Lang has a very virtuoso rendition but THIS, this is such a balance between all of them... this is fantastic! Zimmerman does NOT let you down. His Chopin Ballades are Amazing as well. This and Yundi Li's are probably my favorite at this point.

Reading the year 1975 this was the year when Krystian Zimerman won the Chopin Competition. Imagine this was part of his repertoire before a jury. I like it so much! :D
